I truly think the COP are much better than the ATH-M50/x which are highly praised here and for that price theyre a much better deal too.

agreed. i like both DT770 and COP better than M50/x. i have DT770's, and would have loved a pair of COPs for that price!!! (almost bought a pair for $180ish, but couldn't justify a headphone that, as much as i like them, would be pretty redundant for me!)

True, but you can quickly disconnect your amp and place it in your bag when you're not using it. I don't think I'll ever use such a long case for my phone. I doubt people would want to take the case on and off.

Honestly, it looks killer to me. If it ends up disconnecting easily, an amp won't even have that as an advantage over it. I couldn't tell if it did from the video. Substantially longer battery life for your phone is what beats an amp and/or dac + phone too. It looks like it's the size of about a fifth of the length of the phone so it's pretty small for what it does.
If it detaches easily from the phone it's a 100% buy for me. Only problem is I got a samsung phone. But they did say they're planning to release versions for Samsung phones. Already 73% to goal in a day so people are definitely excited for it. The video is a lot more convincing too.

Thanks. I do like the sound of D5000 very much. So I guess I probably should aim for TH900 then, a very remote target though.

If the Yen keeps dropping you should be able to get the TH900 for <$1000 before long.

I think I just read a classified where a guy was selling stuff now and planned on using financial aid to get a better rig. Represents everything that is wrong with kids today! :)

Touché. I suppose the proper question would be why is it designed in such a way? Personally, I'd rather it be thicker than longer. There's no point to it being slim when you can't pocket it.

so... many... inappropriate...responses...possible! Must...not...post

It's been as low as $675, so this isn't a great deal... and it's not really worth this much.  But, it's better than paying full price.  Has anyone, ever, paid full price for this one?
