I see the replacement model XDP-300 has been announced, but with the Firmware updates to the 100r that fix the low volume issue and add MQA support this seems like a great deal.  I like that it works with streaming sources.   
 
If for some reason you do not want to purchase through NewEgg (taxes?). Electronics Expo is offering the Silver Version through Amazon "Used Like New" with Like New Packaging for $320.  Black is $10 higher.    

was thinking of jumping on this, but when i found out the newer version (xdp-300r) comes with balanced output  and it was on sale for $370ish 2 weeks ago from amazon japan.

Man, I kind of wish I had money for the Pioneer XDP-100r. Would be my first DAP but I really can't afford it right now (future PC upgrades are coming soon, that's why .
 
Is this the lowest price for it? I wonder if it will go down even lower in price?

You guys think getting the A20 amp would be a waste of money if I pair it with an objective odac? I have an objective o2 and pairing it with a sennheiser hd600.

Has a 100 Ohm output impedance which would typically mean that it would work best with high impedance cans (600 Ohm). That said, I saw at least one review that said it seemed like this amp was made for the HD650 (300 Ohm)...go figure.

Seems like a great deal if you're going to be buying mostly high impedance Senns, Beyers, etc
