I agree. We need apps to stream directly on the devices but the apps may stop running at some point so BT receiver function is still nicer to have. Hopefully they will release an update for that.

I’ve mostly used the BT receiver when watching films on my iPad so that would still be relevant as I would not watch films on the build in screen, though bigger it is still too small

As a Sony "fanboy," this announcement was pretty lackluster. I mean, the premium Walkmen were due for a refresh. It just wasn't very exciting. It was like "they look nearly the same, same power output, slightly bigger screen, slightly thinner, still unbelievably expensive, some audiofool nonsense about gold, copper, and kimber cable, similar battery life, plus Android."

I guess it's impressive that they could maintain/improve battery life while implementing Android 11. And they finally ditched the proprietary charging port. I just wanted something more... more. New headphones or something.

I didnt realize the walkman OS has an 80k song limit. Is this the same limit on the DMP-Z1?

On the DMP i don’t know for sure. This 80k limit is rumored for WM1A/Z. I have intil now 63070 songs total

If i had to choose bet een DSD1 remastering On or Off i would say i like both ways, there are albums that sound best wit DSD remaster off and there are other albums that benefit from DSD remaster

They could've definitely put a HD screen of the size of the classic 1A/Z's one.

A100 is the size of the A55 (so it has an even smaller screen size in comparison with the classic 1A/Z), and it has an HD screen - and it looks great!

Yes, just find a dap from two manufacturers with the same power output and they will almost certainly sound different, power output is no measure on it’s own for sound quality

Was available on stock FW but it is the Non-AI version
