Actually that may be a digital out, not input.  Which to me if it were a DAC/AMP, makes zero sense.  Why convert to analog then use a optical output.
Here's the website.
http://audinst.com/en/bbs/board.php?bo_table=HUDmx1&wr_id=4

seems like it was more designed as a DAC and the AMP feature came afterwards.

lawl and that may be why its only $180

Did I mention 24bit audio sounds heavenly on the dt 880

Also here's  a though, the Frequancy range stops at 35khrz... that's kinda not cool man, SO many 24bit flacs have white noise up into 40khrz, and well that ultra high noise is what makes the real magic! Still not complaning but >.> WHY you NOT 45khrz <3

I got some 24bits based off 1950's recordings so maybe the newer Flying Lotus 24bits will be better, as so far the only real imporvemnt on 24 vs 16 is sound stage... 24 sounds very lush

00birdy , if you want not to pay much and have an amp able to drive 95% of juice out of 600ohm DT880's, my recommendation is, go for tubes - Darkvoice/La Figaro 336c would be an excellent budget solution. As an owner of both AudioGD NFB11 and DT880's 600ohm, I would not suggest you go for AudioGD stuff. It is pretty loud, but SQ wise, it doesn't drive DT880's to nearly 75% of their magical performance. You'll need an expensive SS amp like SPL Auditor to make those 100% , or you can go for a Chinese tube amp, or Schiit Valhalla, the results would be very good also.

Yep,  DT880/600 Ohm + La Figaro 336C = nice, very nice!

I'm actually looking at the Yulong / Grant  TubeDAC-11 now.  Seems to be a great fit?

Also, are the darkvoice 336xx and La Figaro 336x the same thing, or different?

The La Figaro is a newer design by a member of the Darkvoice team that split off.  Looks and sound slightly different with La Figaro being just a bit more open sounding, due to the different output caps used.

I've never heard this combo but the 02 will be able to drive 600 Ohm DT880 to any volume you like.

But I can't say that they do or don't sound good together.

Guys, what do you think of this combo:

DT 880 600ohm   +   NuForce Icon HDP   +   Little Dot MK III?

Put more on Amp than Dac IMO (you don't need the integrated amp on Icon HDP ... )

Personally im a bigger fan of OTL amps. Bottlhead makes a good one and theres a group buy for it running right now over at massdrop. Did you consider the DT990 600ohm? What made you pick the DT880?

Peraphs he doesn't like V shaped cans ? and prefer a more neutral/balanced sound ? but will see what he has to say about this .

We are on DT-880-600 ohms thread so i think his choice is allready made but who knows , you can make him consider the DT-990 , i am just saying that DT-880 is a more neutral/balanced can than DT-990 is , and peraphs it's what he is looking for ^^ not trying to bash or anything .

HaVoc-28 : I need a DAC because I'm listening from my PC and some of my files are flac 24bit/192Khz.

BaudlyDamage: Yes, like HaVoc said, I like more neutral/balanced sound :)

I heard and was thinking about Crack, actually. Where can I join the group buy? Is it just a 'kit' or 'put together'?

Get the Dacmini by centrance, i use the Dacport to drive my DT880/600 ohm, the DT880 is pretty neutral and combine it with the Dacport which have a transparent, neutral, and natural sounding make the sound quality that produced more enjoyable

Note that the Dacmini is more superior both in technicality and sound quality compare to the Dacport
