Has anyone compared the DT880's to the newly released AKG K7XX's ? Despite having disliked the K701, I'm willing to give AKG another chance if the K7xx's sound compliments the DT880's.

Anyone have advice on how to alleviate pain on top of head where headband pad comes into contact with head?

You might need to adjust the length of the cups. I don't think the DT880s are heavy enough to really hurt. Maybe you need a new headband pad?

Hi,
Just a small post to thanks the contributors of this thread.
Thanks to you I'm a new owner of a DT880/600 with Lyr 2, I'm using a dx50 as source but I'm waiting for a bifrost uber. I hope it be an audible improvement...
This cans are just fantastic with electronic music, I really discover new sounds in autechre or aphex twin, acids, bass and dynamic are great !
Thanks a lot !

Don't thank me. I would have advised you to get the 250 ohm version.

Nice music preferences. Autechre is top notch!
And they're even better with classical music

I have the 600ohm variant also and have heard they are the best sounding of the line so congrats on making a great decision! BTW my LD MK III drives them fine never been past 12:00 o'clock.

Funny how many times that particular myth keeps getting repeated though - eh

I've owned both myself, and I can't say I noticed any significant difference ...
