The BEST-LOOKING Headphones

Using XYZ materials doesn't automatically make them durable. Metal can be just as breakable as plastic. SA5000 anyone?

It also doesn't change the fact that they still look cheap and breakable.

I don't find the SA5000 to be any more fragile than the other headphones I've used. The MA900 is another story though. It's frame is supposedly magnesium but feels as strong as a gas station pair of sunglasses.

Ever dropped one...

(Yes that is the SA1000 but the SA5000 has been reported to break like this too.)

Wait, I'm an idiot.

Sol Republic.

I don't care what other people say, to me, these look and feel better than any headphone on the market. No question. They feel PREMIUM.

Didn't know metal could break that way

I've dropped them from my lap but nothing serious.

I like this style. HD800 would be up there too.

Too modern for me. I want my headphones to look like the ordinary old sort using simple shapes as DT880 does.

^ Agree with you. Even though I own an HD800 and used to own DT880, I prefer the understated and classy looks of DT880.
The HD800 looks a bit futuristic and plasticky, but as I only uses it at home, so the look is not that critical.

I can understand that. I had a pair of DT990s and they were quite nice to look at. Very well put together too.

I'm not a big fan. Too angular, too modern. Additionally, it seems like all of the people at my school that bought beats for the look are now being told that v-moda's have much better sound and are simply switching over without much thought.

Uh. So it's BAD that they're buying a product that sounds great?

Please don't be one of those guys who avoids things simply because they're popular.

I'm talking about poorly informed purchases. It's bad that they're all buying the same product without doing research about other (potentially better) options. I would make the same argument if dozens of people started showing up with hd800s on my campus.

They're pretty much doing what they did before: doing things just because someone else tells them to.
