The link was broken but I did a search and found this. Is that the correct one? Looks like it's plug and play, which is excellent. No soldering needed. I'm sure all will appreciate your info.

sorry it was because the link was within my account info

i bought from the guy with more purchases, looks like the same product..ut this one is a buck or so cheaper

and yeah just a small keyed connector..it helps to have some magnifying glasses and also some double sided tape

i chose this one and also got a first time discount of $5, u need a tiny t4 or t5 forgot which one to remove the 2 screws
i already had a small suction cup and guitar pick, it's best to start near the power connector, the back case has plastic tabs that snap to open and close

love the fact they made this player "fixable" by the user

When you replaced the battery, did you loose the internal memory?

not that i noticed...battery does seem a bit warmer than the stock one

Speaking from personal experience, I would be very wary of the additional heat and make sure the 240 has lots of ventilation, when in use or charging. I know I'm stating the obvious but Lithium batteries are definitely scary technology.

Is it still a good idea to get the ak240 used? Found someone selling locally for $700us.

If it has what you want/need, I can't think of a reason not to.
Mine has respectable battery life, responsive interface, amazing sound quality. I love mine.
Granted, I just bought AK380 Cu with the amp. It's in San Jose right now, GO SHARKS!! (stupid Preds).

Told SWMBO that I could sell the AK240 and she said NOPE! Dats MINE now!

Don't get me wrong, if you can spring for an SP2000, go for it. I sure want one one day. I think custom IEMs first though for me.

What do you have now?
Are you looking for something specific in the AK240?

I have the A&Norma SR-15 right now. I do plan to upgrade to sp1000 or sp1000m one day. Not sure how much better the ak240 is. I read somewhere is at least comparable to the se100.

Yes, why? Pocket-able, like in the shirt pocket. Enormous soundstage to its size proportion...

Per all AK DAPS I auditioned, please refer to the ff. in order of best sound. The first DAP is the best in terms of SQ - SP1K, 380, 240, 320, Kann, 300, 70, Jr. Please note that the 1k has slight edge over both 380 & 240 in terms of Details retrieval. All first 3 DAPs are very holographic in imaging...

Is the sp1000m better than 380 and 240?

its better i'd hear for myself, but according to my friend, the sp1km is a little less holographic and a tad warm than the SP1K. Now that good question is back to your's. To how much degree, or are they same ?
I auditioned the SS finish, not that 1 on the right, & according to my fellow meetup buddy, the Copper's a bit warm...

Most reviews of the AK 120 MkII state that it sounds the same as the AK240 .

I've moved from AK120 MkII to AK320 and it sounds better - more detail, more air, better soundstage (AK 120 MkII is warmer but also sounds veiled now I've upgraded).

So by logic, the AK320 must therefore be better than the AK240. I've not heard the AK240 myself but all those pro reviews can't all be wrong?

EDIT : Sorry, I just realised that that was your opinion based on audition. I can't argue with that at all, and for you the list is correct.
But logic says that others must disagree.
