No problems either with my ALO Copper 2.5

Same here. I have an ALO Audio Modified IE800 with an SXC 24 Extension 2.5 mm termination that is working well balanced out from the AK240. Also have an ALO Audio Green Line Headphone Cable with a 2.5 mm adapter termination that is working well from the balanced out AK240.

For those lucky people who do not have an issue with the AK240 2.5 port. Can you post a snippet of your AK model number?

Mine is.... 010-100XXX

Mine is 010-100063...no problem on the 2.5TRRS so far.

I have issues with the 2.5mm jack if I rotate or exert pressure on the connector.  I have 3 cables and they all show the same behavior if you push the connector slightly.  I believe the jack is sensitive and the top part of the TRRS connector will lose contact with sufficient force.  My cables came from moon audio and a modified UE cable.
The connection is fibe as libg as you don't rotate the connector or exert force on it.

I had this exact issue on my Ref1 with my first cable, Gavin changed the cable and it's gone.

This is why I've never been a fan of 3.5mm or especially, 2.5mm connectors. The quality of the female sockets can make a big difference in the optimum connection, but these connectors historically have been used for mass market products.

I'm not sure it's a cable issue as much as the jack on the AK240.  All 3 of my cables has this, 2 from moon audio (UE18 and HD800) and a DIY UE cable modified for 2.5mm.  If youexert force on a 2.5mm jack you can see it pushes the pole at an angle and the top part will lose contact.  A right angled plug would work better since less leverage.

I asked Craig at Whiplash about this. He was in the middle if making me a new cable terminated 2.5mm, here's his responce.
I will have your cable shipped tomorrow (today really). The AK240 female
2.5mm is very poorly mounted. There is a variance with this PCB female
jack. Now most of this is with units in Japan.
Plus I have a much better connector now!!
