Is there a product comparison available between the M5 and BTR3? Super curious about which features they will share. The M5 sounds amazing to me if it will still be able to take calls over Bluetooth like the BTR3.
Dear friend,

Thank you for the kind interest on our products.

The M5 could also support calling, but it doesn't have the button for 'answer phone call/end calling/cancel a call' like the BTR3.

Best regards

M5 will carry all the features in BTR3, plus a real Hi-Res DAP features+USB DAC+ bluetooth transmitter .

I'm looking for a DAP capable of playing Audible audiobooks. From what I can tell, the M11 should be able to run it (Audible provides an APK on their website). Can someone from Fiio confirm that Audible is working on the M11? Also, is there any possibility of the Audible app being whitelisted on the M6 or M9?

Hello, @FiiO. Please consider adding other music player apps on the whitelist of the M6 like HibyMusic (from what I see in the FiiO M6 thread, this is one of the most requested apps), PowerAmp, BlackPlayer, etc. I think it's a lot better if we users of M6 have more options regarding music player apps. Besides, if an app like Spotify (in which I think is kinda resource-heavy for the M6) is in the whitelist and could run fine, I don't think the aforementioned apps would have an issue running on the M6.

Also, nice to know that the upcoming FiiO M11 is running on an open Android system where you could run any apps.

1, m11 is running on open Android system.

2, Hibymusic is too big to M6.

Yes,it can work well on M11.
For M6/M9 we will test it to see if it can be added.

Are any of the planned upper tier DAPs going to be able to accommodate the swappable amp units that are currently available? You m looking for a new DAP but can wait a few months. I’m looking forward to the new THX amp module and was wondering what might be coming up.

The M5 looks the most interesting to me in the product line to be launched, because of novelty and price point. What OS will it use? Android? Wear OS? What apps will be available?

HibyMusic is "too big"? But M6 is running apps like Spotify and ES File Explorer, which also fits the description of, in your own words, "too big". I can't see why apps like HibyMusic etc. would be "too big" for DAPs like the M6.

Hiby music is just a local music player and without any steaming music so it is too big for the 4g flash. for spotify and other steaming music apps, they all can't be replace by FiiO music , of course, Hiby music has some features we don't have but it is not important.

You seem to forgot (which is weird for someone working from FiiO to forgot) that the M6 has a microSD/TF slot, which means the storage can be expanded beyond the capacity of the 4GB (I presume 2GB for system + 2GB for internal storage?) the FiiO M6 already has. It can't be "too big" if you have the option to use a bigger TF card. It seems like you guys are just making poor excuses at this point to not add more apps in the whitelist.

Anyway, OK, I could understand why you don't want other music player apps like the HibyMusic in the M6, since it's from a competitor after all, and of course you want us to use your very own in-house FiiO Music Player app. If you're not planning to whitelist other music player apps, then at least fix the bugs/issues the FiiO Music Player has. Two of the issues that I noticed are the special characters/letters like é, ñ, Ø, etc. are displayed as corrupted Chinese characters, and when browsing in folder view, folders are not sorted alphabetically.

Thanks for the answer on M5 OS. Linux is good, lighter. I'm really interested, I bought the BTR1K and didn't want to upgrade to BTR3 because there's slight differences (though interesting).

1) Will the M5 have all the BTR3 functionality/specs PLUS the player functions? If so I'll be in provided the price stays between u$s 50 and u$s 100
2) Since it will have no apps, what "applets" or functionalities are provided? A Clock I guess, a Local player.. something else?

Something I'd REALLY love is some degree of control of the music in the phone. I still use the defunct Pebble smartwatch and I use it to play, ffwd etc from Spotify etc.

And I'm maybe going too far here... But (maybe on a second stage?) getting notifications in the watch would be great too

1, Yes, M5=M3K+BTR3 so it supports all the features that BTR3 has. 2, It has a local clock and local player and also step counters.
