Yes, we are still stanning Pro 82

The choice between Pro 82 v2 and GM200 is something like this:
If you want best tonality, imaging and transparency - go with Pro 82 v2.
If you are a bass-head or enjoy bass more than the average bear - go with GM200. Bass-wise, it sounds almost identical to the 1600$ Sennheiser HD820 - HD820 has a little bit more bass, but GM200 has higher quality bass (and still plenty of quantity). Mids and treble are much better on GM200, HD820 often gets shouty and female vocals are off-timbre. Both have the same warm sound signature, but GM200 is just better.

I enjoy both Pro 82 v2 and GM200, at their prices it's not cost prohibitive to get both.

And if you want the best of both worlds find a Coolermaster mh751/mh752. Bigger cup size = better soundstage as well.

I suggest reading measurements of a headphone with a bass port mod, if you want to know the difference. You'll never hear it though, since you're biased

There can be no real evidence that one headphone sounds better than another - it's always a subjective opinion.

The best evidence I can give to the fact how great Pro 82 v2 sounds on a synergy combo is the fact that I have packed all my six electrostatic headphones (Stax 009, Stax Lambda 700, Stax Lambda 300LE, Stax Lambda 300, Stax 003 and Perun) and sent them to a remote storage location. These electrostats cost me ~7000$ (not counting electrostatic amps, which are very expensive).

The only one that could truly compete with Pro 82 v2 (running on Sabaj DA2 + O2 amp) throughout the entire frequency range was the 3800$ Stax 009, but being an open headphone, I just couldn't use it most of the day.

MH751 sounds as good as you would expect a 60$ headphone to sound, it can't compete.
MH751's pads weren't as comfortable as Pro 82/GM200's either.

It's a bit more complicated. The most popular measurement is Frequency Response, but it only shows quantity, not quality.
Two headphones may have same bass curve, but the bass will sound very different.

There are other measurements that reflect quality: step response, impulse response, phase measurements.
Tyll Hertsens was one of the few reviewers that bothered to do such measurements, but he is long retired...

- Im going to buy the pro 82 v2. Is there any code that still works?
- I have the V1s that i use with P10 + EL-D01 combo, but my pads are pretty beat up, i have anther pads but they are thicker and changed the sound of the headphones, you recomended me some in the past, but they are not available anymore. Do you have any other link for replacements?
- Im going to change setups going for the V1 + BTR3K for work, and V2 with P10 + EL-D01 at home
- Now for the BTR3K, i saw some stores selling cheaper then your link, any chance they are fake?

There are no fake BTR3K, you can buy from any store (as long as it has a good rating).

@Ausemere and @JackTorrence have experience installing MH751/752 replacement pads on Pro 82 - maybe they can post a step-by-step procedure. Should be the same for GM200, as they use the same pads.

I wouldn't bother with the Ali earpads, so far the feedback in this thread is that using non-original pads hurts the SQ (at least on Pro 82).

Thanks, the coupon for the 10 dolars worked, end up buying some pads for the v1 they are pretty bad, hope these are better then the other ones. Gonna be great to compare now the v1 and the v2 and the 2 setups the Btr3k vs the p10 combo.

I think v1 would probably sound better on P10 + EL-D01 combo, the tube amp can smooth out the treble spike that was removed in v2. Both v1 and v2 will sound fantastic on the combo, but BTR3K may be better suited for v2.
