It was more out of curiosity since I currently got the DT770 velourpads on the HD660
smily_headphones1.gif
(so that's why I figured it might fit).

Hehe, It's funny. The 660 is a clone of beyer headphones and the 681/668b are clones of AKG. The way the pads go on is the difference I think.

The pads on the DT770 "latch" onto a rim while the AKG pads use tension to stay on the rim. Plus the beyers are a liiiitle bit smaller.

HD660 with DT770 pads and 668B with AKG240 velourpads, so obviously it works this way around :), and if it just would have been me who disobeyed the natural order of things when I did put the pads on... then I guess I'd simply have to put the pads on the other headphone :p. Unless the dimensions are different, they really should fit, or am I missing the point you're trying to make :)?

Wow we received the HD381 EVO, in white & black Today 3/7... i have to say i am very impressed at the looks of these, two detachable cables and the ear pads are newly designed as well, way more comfy looks sown in not stamped out like the old pads ...very sexy look... now to burn them in ...  hey thanks for all the emails... just mention Head Fi, or sign up to our Newsletter and stay in touch and receive special march pricing only 39.  but please not on eBay they charge us 7 to 9 % so please buy direct, we can still Pay Pal... and pass the savings on to you.  After looking at these, now i know why the wholesale is the same as the HD668B MSRP $69 ...great box presentation too.  But the sound... oh my Jah...  Cheers Doyen Audiohipster Recording Studio

Hello, I need a pair of headphones that I can use in a quiet environment without disturbing anyone within earshot. I'll be mostly using them to listen to music but I'm also likely to use them with my keyboard. Which pair of Superlux headphones would be most appropriate? I thought maybe the 662 or the 669, or even the 668b?

Thanks for the recommendation, I'll look into them. I should add that I don't need particularly portable headphones and I'm in Europe so I'm happy to use Thomann.

Well you can get them off ebay for $55 something shipped all the way from JPN. I use to own these superluxes, still have the HD681s and the JVC destroys them in every possible way. Get the JVCs and don't look back trust me.

Are there any sellers that you would recommend? I'm always reluctant to buy electronic products on eBay. Are the JVC HAS400B worth considering?

buyfromjapan is a great seller and lots of people have gotten their jpn audio from them before.

Here is the link, and they seem to have the best prices as well. The gunmetal color is the one to get, cuz black doesn't look as classy.

There you go.

The S400 are great if you want great mids, but the bass and highs feels a bit lackluster compared to the S500s. S500 is great for modern pop/ hip hop/ Rnb music while the S400s seems to fit more of a inde- types of music.

edit: sorry about all this jvc talk you'll, i'll leave it back to the superluxes now.

Anyone else has the HD572? I just modded a pair and DEAR GOD, my 668b got nothing on these. And that's for 35$ once the mod is done and I'm sure they can be even better, I just have no idea what to do next.

Please tell me there are some cheaper velour/letherette pads out there.. I really don't want to do the sock mod, I did it for my sr850's and although it did the job, I hated the look and they kept coming off. $30 is too much for pads...

there are some cheap pleather ones on ebay for $10. creative has some that are pretty nice cheap but not velour.

very rarely an ebay seller will sell VELVET pads that are a bit itchy.

I'm stuck between the new HD-681 Evo and the HD-330. I think the HD-330 would be a better choice for me, as I listen to rock mostly, but I'm not certain if my laptop is able to drive them properly. I previously had the PortaPro's and I really loved the warm sound they produced. Right now this is what my HD-681 lacks and why I want to upgrade. So I know that the HD-330 needs an amp to be driven properly, but how bad/good is it without one?
