Yes, this is the older version. I placed the paper towel discs (in the shape of stock circular foam) in front of the driver, than placed/stacked the included stock foam on top. I will post photos later.

Thanks for the info! Might do this later if not for the driver rattle on the left side of mine making me hesitant to open them up again.

Unfortunately I can't tell you; I've never heard the 669. The HD668B could easily be my only pair of full-sized headphones, though. Ditto with the SR850, although I prefer the HD668B.

this speaks for itself. that's crazy, how does the superlux and sr850 pair against the hd800 and k701? did you try the hd800 and lcd 4 from proper dacamps?
