I recently got HD662F and I must say "Wow" was my first impression. They have good bass extension and response, they are quite flat and slighlty on bright side but not that way like HD681 is. They shine after tuning them with Equalizer APO with GUI.

Does anyone know what version of the HD662 is the Samson SR950 based on? I've just placed an order on the Samson and it will arrive in mid Jan 2016. Hopefully it will bring something different to the table from my Kingston HyperX Cloud (Takstar Pro80 clone)

Probably closest to HD662.

I made a bit aggressive settings for HD662F. I am using now Brainwavz memory foam pads. I love those pads. So much comfort but they made sound slighly softer. I'm thinking to mod those "pads", need more hardness to the sound.

Edit. I made nice mod to those brainwavs pads. No need to open cans or do anything to pads. I used thick photo paper and cutted it to two circles (approx 92mm) and made a hole for it for the driver. Placed the donut under the pad and foam. Thats it :) Sound is now more impact and less sibilant. Just so right.

Edit. Updated file.

Guys i'm planning to get the 660's - i'm aware that the velour pads are quite mandatory - is it better to get the 668-evo in addition as they come with additional velour pads or just pads from dt770 or akg k240?

Velours lower HD600 neutral bass to anemic. I would recommend to use soft pleather or genuine leather pads.

hello guys, just got myself the 662fs, nice isolation changes me from my 681 evo and sounds quite good too. but the pads are a bit tight around my head and i know it ll loosen up eventually but id like some more comfortable ones, like the ones from the dt770 for exemple. is there any know quality replacement?

Guys is it still worth to get the 660's if I already own 668b's and 662f's? I need them mostly for mixing.
Also, what pads are best to get if I'll pick up the 660's?

I like 662F more than 600 but if want to your own adventery it's your call :)

Get pleathers: http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00OLKV5TK?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00

Verlours lower bass... But those pleathers are very soft.

Well I'm unsure about paying half the price of the headphones for pads honnestly :s

I would like to know if you know better and cheaper ones. Pads arent supposed to make your ears bleed. You can enjoy music with those cans and relax with those pads.

are you sure there isn't anything closer to dt770? soft velours?

I have tested some ebay velours and pleathers they are not good as DT770 original verlours or Brainwavs. Those "cheap" ebay pads are thin and small. Not good for ears.
