Hey guys since everyone was talking about pads one page ago here's an off the wall idea for all of you. Has anyone here ever experimented with bowls by specifically using them as just filler for a ear pad? I was thinking maybe using a leather wrap not unlike the leather wrap used on the end of say a tennis racket and very carefully wrapping and gluing it around bowls. Maybe it would make a noticeable difference in sound and maybe it would even make the bowls far more comfortable to wear?
I really don't think it would sound to good. The pads are open for a reason.

You should like the PK3's. I've had a pair for 4 years now. They don't get much use nowadays but I used them a lot when I was at school during the 30 minute walk to and from my girlfriend's apartment. May not be quite as good as some of the entry level IEMs, but for an earbud, its hard to beat them for the price. Except for the Best Ever Blue 328r which has gotten good reviews and intrigued me. I really don't need more earbuds right now though. My only issue with the PK3 has always been the J-Cord which I really don't like. Seeing that its now offered with an Y-cord, this is no longer a problem.
I hate you for showing me those... This is why I have to stop coming to head-fi...
I might have to pick these up for 25 bucks... It's kind of hard to pass up.

I seem to recall (from possibly the old SR60 thread) that leather pads will not work on Grados as they seem to require the breathability from the foam to get the sound we all know and love.
I guess it never hurts to try again though

Yeah, this is exactly what I was thinking.
