I used your method a few days ago to liberate my 325 drivers... and it worked PERFECTLY! no damage whatsoever to the drivers and took 10 minutes tops. I didn't use a screwdriver like you show, I just pulled with my fingers and the outside cup peeled right off (with significant force)

Thanks again for the suggestion.

Don´t you read my methoth for dismantle drivers?.

As you know now I have a Grado SR 225i and as I was here a few days with cool plastic not take it anymore. As the final plastic parts that hold the driver I thought I do not use more easily for removal.
First remove the tops and fixtures, as we know:
http://recopasgrado.blogspot.com/search?updated-max=2010-08-13T12% 3A58% 3A00-07% 3A00 & max-results = 7
In this piece there are recesses to pass the cable, should fix the part with the deepest recess up.

Then with a knife, hacksaw or lightsaber, cut the piece (pastica very squishy), do not forget to stop when you get the driver may be damaged;). Then it splits the piece with a screwdriver at first and then with pliers, separate easy to be open.

The driver comes out perfect, no marks.
Then remove the grids of glass, which has a piece that contains it, is removed with a screwdriver forcing a little.

The 225 drivers are already on the tops of aluminum and wood, though grids of 225 since I have not yet because you have to cut them.

Next are the 325, Phonotone, at his request, of course.

I've blown yet another driver.

Does anyone have an extra they'd be willing to part with?

Bill If I could PM you I would but I've reached my daily alotment of five apparently whatever the bleeping bleep bleep that's about. That and this site reminds me of dial up. Anyway I'd entertain splitting the cost of an iGrado with you, I need a driver too; and Darren when I get a new alotment of PM's I'll be in touch.

What'd you do Bill?

I must have twisted it somehow when I moved them over to the Bila cocobolo cups. It sounds to me like a portion of the voice coil has become detached from the Mylar, as there is a buzzing in the right driver when a low frequency is reproduced. I've had this happen before on a set that I got rough with while liberating but I was a smooth as butter with these. Go figure?

Thanks to you. My intention is to help in any way possible.

Today I removed the drivers for your piece of plastic and have sausage pressed into the piece of wood after the wires once passed by the boquetito the piece of wood. I cleaned the silicon thermal vents and I have ridden without hitting yet. I have ridden the headphones, but the sound impressions should wait at bonding parts because it is the only way that the body weight of the handset do your job right.

Greetings.

Big Bill, for which model do you need the driver from?  I'm working on getting the broken driver from Questhate and looking into possibly resolving the issue with it upon receiving it.  However, it could be a week or so before I see it.

What'd you use to cut through? Could I just use a steak knife or something?

And what's this "glass" thing you have to remove?

The blood, sweat and tears seem to have worth it - here's the 225's:

First and foremost - a big thanks to Kneeljung, for sending me a pair of billa's cocobolo cups. There's a crack in the cups - but it's stable, and since it really is all about the sound doesn't matter to me at this point.

Did all the usual mods - 4 hole punch, screen removal, cups and screens - and also slightly shortened the cord and replaced the 1/4"plug with a Switchcraft mini. Although I don't think these will be my usual portable cans (there's just too much traffic all the time - and the buses aren't exactly quiet) there will be times when they'll go out with me. Here they are in the carrying case:

Shoot - should have dusted the E11.

Anyway, I listened to them a bit already - and the wood really does take the sound to a whole new dimension! I honestly had no idea - I had been awake at that point for almost 24 hours, and still couldn't take them off to sleep.

Thank you - to everyone - for all the help and advice, even when it was just from me lurking here!

Good looking stuff there gamer.

I have a box waiting for me at home! Would it be my Martin Customs MS1?

My maid confirms it's a box with another wooden box inside. She stopped at that point. I asked for a phone pic but she can't use the phone for "those" kinds of things. It should be the correct toy.

My diary is loaded with meetings as usual... it'll have to wait

Thanks, guys! I'm pretty happy with the way they turned out myself.

Just spent about 6 hours on the computer, first doing a complete reorganization of my music, followed by a fresh rockbox install on the sansa - now it's all transferring over to the player. Should be some extremely contented listening in... let's see... about 50 minutes.
