I went for a 2 hour walk today beside busy roads. Yes I could hear cars but only just! And that's not because I was drowning out everything with excessive volume. They are not completely isolated but if you have a proper fit then they are no where near as noisy as Id read by others previous to purchase. I would have no hesitation in wearing these in public areas.
Man they sounded good too.... The whole system of these, and the Sony ZX300 on balanced are starting to sound unbeatable now....
i had some Spiral Dot buds arrive from Japan today to try something else as an alternative to the Sony hybrid tips. Amazing the difference it makes. The Sony tips give the lovely full sound Im used to now but putting the JVC's on loses a lot of that warmth and lightens the 'heft' of the phones in general. Would maybe suit someone that likes a more neutral sound but Im not a fan....
hello guys, my earphones just spoiled, previously ue900s. since ue didnt come out with new universals, im considering ex1000, xba z5 and fitear f111, which one do u guys think would suit me better? im open to other iems too. thanks

im not sure. im looking for an upgrade at the same time though, i will feel weird if i buy back the same earphones, although i would of course, love them.
Precisely. If you are not sure, you need to do your audition to be sure, so that it is indeed your "upgrade". All 3 IEMs you listed has totally different sound signature.

Coming from the UE900, the Bass in the Z5 will have a lot more presence when properly driven. There is just no way that BA bass driver can move the same amount of air mass as a 16mm dynamic driver . The EX1000 is too colored for my ear and does not have a good bass curve. it's mid and high is really bright and does have more sparkles but can be fatiguing for prolong use. no experience with the 111 at all. A lot depends on your pllayback device. What were you driving the UE900 with?

balanced. i have a PlusSound Exo terminated with 4.4mm at home. but the normal mmcx is able to fit the z5 right? coz i heard that it does need a special mmcx with a lock or something.
