since i don't have any clue about "burn-in", how would you recommend it to someone who just bought a brand new mdr-z1r?

gear: isotek evo3 premier cable, audioquest carbon usb cable, meze silver upgrade cable, sony taz, sony wm1z, and fiio m17.

personal listening time: 2 hours per week. but could be increase for burn-in with a stand.

music genre: r'n'b, soul, hip hop, pop, jazz, blues.
personally, ive just listened to the Z1R/taz since it was fresh out the box because it sounded so good, and now it sounds even better

Hook it up to the Taz and run a playlist on loop for 4 days. That should do it.

1) With breaks in between? If yes, how long?

2) Volume level?

3) Would it be "ok" if i do the burn in like 2-3 hours per days and get the same results after 1 month? Or is the 4 days "full time" "better"?

I usually play phones/gear a couple of hours in the evening when listening to it, turn it of during the night and then run it for burn-in during the day. I usually go with higher volume than I listen at when doing burn-in on the phones as the purpose is to loosen up the drivers mechanically

I would like to say that all Z1R owners owe themselves a listen of Macy Gray's Stripped, I love the sound reproduced by the Z1R's, the main goal of the Z1R's was to recreate the atmosphere of the recording room; This is a Binaural recording by Chesky records; see the developers note.

Will Sony TA ZH1ES sounds great when using as dedicated Dac to two channel system ?
Yes. I use a Schiit Gungnir DAC it makes a slight difference to soundstage, dynamics and cleanliness oof the signal.

Yes, I use it connected to a pair of Audioengine powered speakers in my office. For inputs I use my computer or a Sony NW-WM1A in a dock.

I have Sony SS-M7 Speakers SimAudio preamp and amp Sony AVR ZA5000ES
SimAudio pre will only take analog in no digital
My plan is to use TA ZH1ES for my headphones in San Antonio and at the same time able to use with my two channel set up in Houston lol

It’s Temporary solution since I’m in the middle moving

Here is a song with a bubbly melody in the beginning, a satisfying soundstage and a dynamic back and forth nature between the singers. The bass is a highlight in this song and a prominent feature of the headphones.

Marni on me
