AFAIK the log file is appended, not overwritten.
Yes the log file gets appended. If either file gets manually deleted it will be recrated from scratch next reboot of the player

The cfw folder is on the internal storage at the root level next to the Music folder. You have to install the external tuning from there or from your computer drive where they also are.

so if i want to change the tuning, i simply double click on the preferred ext tuning inside the CFW folder and just follow instruction ?

do i have to restart/reboot the player afterwards as well ?

Yes. Its basically as follows

- Open the settings document
-Select the corresponding number for the tuning you want to apply.
-Save (its a good rule of thumb to save twice because for whatever reason Ive seen it revert for no apparent reason)
- Edit: Reboot because I forgot that part, I couldn't remember if it was once or twice.
-Run the tuning you wish to apply.

As far as rebooting it does it automatically I think, If it doesn't then yes, reboot.
Other than that, that's basically all there is to it. You can check in the device settings (Unit Information) while on and itll tell you the tuning, if it wasnt correct it'll say "Tuning not applied" or something similar

First change the tuning setting in the settings file and reboot, and after this reboot then run the corresponding external tuning installer, otherwise the external tuning install could say that it doesn't detect the player.

They way I do it is to make the changes to the settings file, then install the tuning that is already active on the player as that causes an automatic reboot and then install the new tuning if you have selected one in the settings file which then automatically reboots again and then you are set

Hello, it's exactly how it says in my post:
"Unfortunately, I don't just have the fix on hand, I have to work on it, and I'll PM you."

I need to dig out some old SSD, connect it externally to my laptop, etc. I can't promise that it will be anytime soon.

There isn't a magic key combination unfortunately, you need to reflash the OS again.

How did you manage to get it to bootloop?
Any update bro?

so i am playing with the various regions offered on WMone before trying the remaining 3 sound signatures (currently on wm1z sound)

CEV and MX3 were the 2 most enjoyable settings to these ears , also tried E and U and something was off (at least with my CIEM and to my ears again)

i also need to try again J , no J3 available atm

i have one question for @MrWalkman

i seem to have the Gold GUI FW offered by nayparm in his ver5 mods , if i install your J3 beta FW will i lose all the gold bling in my GUI (battery meter/volume knob etc) or will it remain ?

Hi Proedros. you will loose the "Gold-Bling" of that version of the ONE! Just ask yourself, do I need the bling!? :)

i see , well gold bling is a nice touch so i will probably stay with the installed FW

btw , i don't know if my ears are playing tricks on me or it's real , but i feel like the sound changes a bit depending i have High Gain or not activated (through the wm1a settings)

Low Gain makes the mids less pronounced whereas High Gain seems to 'fill' the middle of the sound and make it more balanced

ah , the joys of listening to music and disecting each aspect of it :)

The gold is a Steve special and will be lost if you install anything yourself other than changing sound signature

Love that intro to Sober - Tool is on my long list of bands to spend some more time with.

huge Tool fan here , had an obsession with them in the early 00s for about a decade after that i grew them out of my system

but Aenima is one of the albums that really scarred me (in a good way) and Lateralus is no slouch either

if you haven't already make sure you check this album by a band they consider their dad (music wise)

King Crimson , Discipline (1981)
and watch this amazing live show in Japn from 2003 , the sound is stellar and they remind a more jazzy/proggy Tool

Hi guys,i'm using the lastest custom software on my a55. Days before i bought a cable that is wm port to micro usb(NOT DAC) which i can use USB AUDIO and using my external dac. However, when i connected it to my modded a55.It turned out that i can only play dsd2.8 to dsd11.2 correctly, any other file like mp3 alac flac aiff and so on are all unplayable. And causes my a55 to crash multiple times like froze, unable to click, shut down.
So is it my dac problem and should i downgrade to stock firmware in order to use USB AUDIO?
@MrWalkman sorry for the tag
