I thought the netral is the wm1a sound

Btw, what is the equivalent of midnight on new firmware? I saw @Redcarmoose old post about midnight firmware have a good synergy with Sony XBA-Z5
I thought warm was more or less midnight

Hey, Mr. Walkman provided a program to repair the bootloop or something similar? What did you do to remove it?
I acquired a NW-WM1Z recently, but I installed the famous mod that modifies the sound firm, my problem is that it is in a bootloop and I have no idea how to fix it.
I've been sending Mails to Mr. Walkman but never responds. But I could also pay someone to solve it if it is the case.
Anyway, I can't believe that I have thrown € 3,303 at the trash... I bought it from Japan and has no guarantee.
I'm not saying to do this, however early in this scene my 1A went into a loop - I got out of it by reinstalling the stock fw (in that bootloop, there are a few seconds where the player will respond to actions via USB) and carried on from there... As a matter of interest, which [version of the] famous mod have you tried to install?

Hello,

Please send me an email again, I'm don't really see standing emails about a bootlooping WM1Z in my inbox.

Also, how did the bootloop happen? You just installed the mod and the player just got in a bootloop right after you installed it, or what exactly?

What happens is that after installing the Walkman One Mod successfully on my WM1Z, the language did not change to English and it stayed in Japanese, so I did not know how to change it to English and I decided to format it better, but while the program was running formatting process, I kept pressing my finger on the power button for a while, until I realized that it didn't come out of the "Walkman" logo and from there it got stuck...

The problem that worries me is that it only connects via USB Massive for two or three seconds to my computer; so it is impossible for me to format it or do any other maneuver from my Laptop

hey friend, the exact same thing happened to me but with a ZX300, I sent some emails to Mr. Walkman a while ago but he never answered (I understand that he is busy). I've been looking for a way to solve it for months but I can't find anything, in fact I commented on it in this very post.

I tell Mr. Walkman with all my humility, to tell me how to solve it if I have to contribute money or I can do something, I am quite desperate to solve it, I just want to know how long it will take.

It's easy follow the instructions exactly, do not mess with these players while they are updating or installing new firmware. Dont touch the buttons or display, have some patience or you risk being stuck in a boot loop. The Linux based players can be recovered as there's a fall back
HW mode (DFU). So while the player may seem unresponsive it can still accept new comands and be reprogrammed.

@MrWalkman will get back to you, when he can, like all he only has 24 hours in the day. The best way to connect to him is right here, describe the issue in detail and tag him. For those in the future again follow the instructions explicitly. The CFW is safe to run and safe to revert. My own WM1A must have been flashed well over a hundred times over and remains flawless @aceedburn is probably in four figures by now LOL...

Off topic, but I got my wm1z and want to organize my music scattered all over my PC. When I search for what music mangers may be good, media monkey and Jriver pop up a lot. I’m willing to pay a one time fee for some extra features, but not looking for a subscription. Are the above still good, do you recommend something else? Thanks

The free Sony music center does a pretty good job if you’re not into bells and whistles. It syncs and works nicely with the Walkman too.

I've had mediamonkey for many years to sync an ipod, and quite happy, but it was trying jriver a little over a year ago, and migrating everything. It's much faster, it handles high resolution files better, and the DSP options and being able to add VST plugins are a great addition. They more or less do the same things, there are some that are easier in MM, others in jRiver. Both have good wikis and a helpful community. Jriver's is somewhat more active. To give you an idea, I have over 5TB of music, mostly in FLAC, stored on a NAS, and it handles everything very quickly. I have also had Roon, it is true that using the NAS as core and it was not optimal in terms of speed. jriver offers me the same DSP and bit perfect options, much more speed, and doing many A/B tests, with the same audio chain, I detected better sound. I can't tell you why, but that's how it was... so, even though I liked roon's features, I stopped paying the monthly fee.

I have been using foobar2000 for many years as it does exactly what I want. It is extremely configurable (both a good and a bad thing). There is no doubt it is old and the gui certainly isen’t modern or up to date or sexy.

Another vote for Foobar. There's times I would like a more attractive UI, but I like that it is free, has a decent amount of configurations, has a tonne of free add-ons like SACD (DSD/DSF) playback and can convert and split etc.

I also have AIMP which I used to use a lot previously. But nowadays I just listen to my NAS directly and don’t update my files that regularly anymore.
