Can someone provide a refresher course on the latest Mr. Walkman firmware‘s? Before his summer "leave of absence" I tried several on my 1Z however in the end decided to remain with the stock 3.02 firmware.

I’ve tried to catch up on things since his return and for some reason I am coming to the conclusion that most of these firmware‘s are really designed to bring the 1A up to the 1Z performance level.

Does it pay to try any of the new 1Z options and if so which one and which region? Headphones are Utopias with Norne Vykari copper silver cable.

On my 1Z I run Midnight v2 Region J with Plus v2 and Alternate DAC. It improves on the stock 3.02 with better bass details, smoother highs and larger soundstage.

I’m running Dawn V2.1 with FEv2 tuning, Plusv2 and alternate dac initialisation on my Nayparm modded 1AZ and feel it improves in every aspect over the stock 3.02 fw
