If it is going through the motions and rebooting the WM1A does that mean the Ext. Tuning has actually loaded even with the error, or do I need to track down an actual windows computer to load it properly? Any other way to verify the Ext. Tuning was loaded successfully?

Curious to hear your findings/observations as I was looking recently at those when doing A/B with the full size Sony cans against my IER-Z1Rs. Albeit, I didn't have the latest firmware mod then, but now I do and am interested in these Balanced Armature Encores

@MrWalkman I’m looking forward to the DMP-Z1 mod for the A30. I already have the ZX300 mod on my Sony NW A35 and it’s awesome. Would there be any difference in sound quality between the forthcoming DMP-Z1 and the ZX300 mod on my A35?

I am also wanting to buy the Sony NW-A55L for the available DMP-Z1 mod. However, I was wondering if this firmware will disable the EU volume cap? Please advise.

No, you need to use the destination tool yourself, for that.

I have a couple of their 512Gb cards and they've been fine, no issues whatsoever. That said it may be worth waiting, now that there is more completion the prices may well drop a bit.

I've been away for the forum for quite a while.. found this thread yesterday and I think I'm gonna try some of this firmware's on my wm1a. There's a description of sound differences between the firmware somewhere?

Interestingly, the A105 looks to have the same amount of power output as the A55, gains Android, but drops the USB DAC and Bluetooth receiver features. And the A35 in turn is very similar to the A55 So you should probably hold on and see what MrWalkman's firmware can do for the hardware you've already got.

I just recently purchased a Sony A55 only for this DMP-Z1 mod. I already have the A35 but I couldn’t wait for the A35 mod to be released.

Mate, when the dmp a35 comes out, can you go q comparison? I’ve been holding the trigger on a 55 but I’ve got 45, I still wonder if there’s any audio gains, I don’t imagine it to be a massive change but still, I want a spare player just in case
