Got my player at last, its like everything I wanted them to do...its brilliant! Certainly looks the part too, very nice looking, small & light. UI has no learning curve, so easy. Going to put it through its paces tonight

 Those Japanese accessories are impressive.
Looks like we have:

WM port speaker
WM port to Micro USB for smart phone charging?
WM port to Analogue 3.5mm jack with 2 line levels.
WM port with Micro USB slot in to work as an adaptor.
WM port with female USB to use in a dac.
WM port Microphone. (Not supported on A15)

I'd love to know what that remote does, says something about recording? Hmm.

I just bought the sony walkman and not impressed with the sound quality. Its slightly better than my iPhone 5S. But the hugo dac is on a completely different level than the sony walkman. I am returning it and will be using my hugo and iPhone. Chord is coming out with a carrying case to make it easier to carry.

Using which headphones, please?

I have two sets of cable arriving tomorrow and I will report back on this for sure.

Thanks audionewbi!  I'm really pleased to read this and looking forward to your post.

Can I just say I think the A10 sounds excellent with open earphones of any brand, price or vintage? There's a sparkle of synergy that is far less obvious, if not nonexistant, when it's driving closed-back IEMs.

Amen to all the accessories.  This is why you have to visit Japan, you can find anything there.  I was blown away by all the stuff I found there especially seeing not just the walkmen on the shelves but the accessories as well.  Pretty awesome.

^This is for line-in (as in recording), not line-out. So don't buy this for the wrong reason.

You guy might be more interested in these:

From left: transparent case, leather case and silicone case. The later two come in 4 colors to match the A10. Click on the picture for more detail.

I'll be getting a white leather case probably, once they are released in Japan.

Just a food for thought guys.

Why dosen't sony out a small simple plug and play headphone amp for its players like say the size of fiio e6 only difference being it attaching seamlessly into the form of player through wm port??

Like this thing only difference being not round and act like a continuation of the player when attached??

I bet its an awesome idea and lot of guys will love the concept

This thing is smaller than an e6, wouldn't work

well they don't need to put in a seperarte battery like in e6 which will shrink the size for sure...........admit its an awesome idea

Yes, you can. :D

But my ears would find the HD650, among many others, suffering with so few mW rms per channel.

Disclaimer: I haven't heard any of the A series with any IEMs or headphones.

In that case why not just install a better amp inside the unit, why have 2? I think the internal amp is fine btw.

Someone should do a tear down so I can read the chips

Thats why
For people who want to use slightly bigger cans without sacrificing portability
