Here it is, guys, the expected firmware mod :)

Features:
- sound signature resembling the one of the DMP-Z1, with awesome bass response and amazing soundstage holography and extension
- native DSD playback over the 3.5 mm output (available only for the 4.4 mm balanced port on the stock firmware)
- DSEE AI (present on DMP-Z1)
- progressive JPEG and interlaced PNG album covers are supported
- hardware accelerated rendition of the UI

Hello all!

I've installed DMP-Z1 setup on my ZX300 and as author - @MrWalkman - wrote, the sound signature was changed very noticeable - more space, more holographic (I think that in this thread the change is the most noticeable, I mean - wow!), different bass response.

Thank you @MrWalkman, it is great update :)

As far as I remember, there was a question about bringing detailed data to now playing screen (as in DMP-Z1 or WM1) such as played track format and bitrate or similar.

Is this possible, what do you think about this @MrWalkman ?

It could be, but the app that the WM1 is running is made for a slightly bigger resolution, and some stuff gets cut out of the screen, so I don't really think there's any point in doing it.

So the DMP-300 firmware is a DMP-Z1 dedicated fw modified (in some way) to work with ZX300 device, or it's just some configuration files or sth taken from DMP-Z1 fw (to which you have acces and which are connected with audio processing) and "cooked" with ZX300 dedicated firmware?

I asked you in the A50 thread about bringing the now playing Playback Screen from ZX300 to A50 and you said that it is not possible because you don't have an access to firmware files, and now we have this functionality in A50. So how it is looking right now?

Maybe some tweakings in layout files (if possible), or cropping eg. album art would be possible?

Would be nice to have these informations in Now Playing screen, just saing :)

I can't get into details, but it's not the DMP-Z1 firmware. The DMP-Z1 player app looks different.

I don't think I said that. I only said it's not possible due to some different hardware configuration.

Unfortunately it's not possible to modify the app without having access to source code of it, and only the WM1 app could run on the ZX300, but as I said, it's made for a slightly bigger resolution. If the resolution were to be the same, then this would already be available, but otherwise, I don't see the point of it.

The app has the layout part built-in.

I have ZX300+ FW installed... to install DMP I need to just flash DMP-300.exe --> DMP-300_Ext_Tuning.exe
and to revert back to ZX300+ I need to flash StockRevert (DMP-300).exe --> StockRevert_Ext_Tuning.exe

@MrWalkman I hope I got that right?

The bass is just out of this world with the new fw, however, I had some issues with imaging because of the expansive sound stage.

I had zx300+ installed and when I reverted back I was back to the stock 2.02. I had to again flash zx300+. Thank you @MrWalkman for your hard work!

Yep, reverting will get you back on 2.02.
