The new FiiO BL44 is also a valid and reasonably priced solution.
Brise Audio is another, expect three times the cost of the Musashino adapter, along with many cheap chinese adapter. If one has a balanced cable already terminated with a 4.4mm jack and wants to use it on a 2.5mm female socket on a DAP (meaning one wants a 2.5mm male to 4.4mm female adapter, which is what I though superuser1 was asking for), I only know the Musashino adapter, tbh.
To use 2.5mm-terminated balanced cables on a 4.4mm female socket DAP, there's lots more choices (as the others have indicated).
It's too expensive for the Brise audio one, as the plug and socket are using the Pentaconn brand, the best you can get and also expensive, and I do agree with you, the Musashino adapter offers the best quality and probably the best looking one, I also have the 3.5 male to 4.4 female from Musashino Label, and I will also be getting the 4.4 male to 3.5 female Musashino label in November during my visit to Japan.Looks like I stand corrected and there's other choices to use a 4.4mm jack on 2.5mm balanced DAPs. Good to know (though I don't think I'll be buying the Brise one any time soon, lol)
Plussound can also make an adapter with a 2.5mm male to 4.4mm female adapter or extension cable.

I bought the Musashino 3.5 - 4.4 when I was on an accessory grabbing high in Japan and was feeling like I had spent too much and should have waited for a cheap option - your comment has just made me feel like I made a good quality choice. It's too expensive for the Brise audio one, as the plug and socket are using the Pentaconn brand, the best you can get and also expensive, and I do agree with you, the Musashino adapter offers the best quality and probably the best looking one, I also have the 3.5 male to 4.4 female from Musashino Label, and I will also be getting the 4.4 male to 3.5 female Musashino label in November during my visit to Japan.
