OK, so....I'm at probably 125 hours into my listening time on the ZX2. I've been listening exclusively with my se846 monitors which I basically purchased at the same time. On first listening to music (any music, lossy, lossless, mp3s, 16 bit, 24bit, 192kbps, etc) the ZX2 made everything sound incredible. In the last 10 hours or so it feels like all music sounds very flat. It also feels like the low frequency listening has taken a massive dump. It almost feels like I'm listening to my alarm clock radio. Is this what I should be expecting during the "break in" period? Any input would be appreciated. It actually has me pretty worried, like something is not functioning correctly. I changed out the filters in the IEMs and tried messing with the eq. I was hoping for something/anything but nothing has worked. I'm trying to tell myself that it's just breaking in, but how can something sound so horrible after being awesome for the last 6 weeks. Your input is appreciated.

Other users (see page 327 of this forum) have noted that the sound changes quite a bit during the break in period, up to 180 hours. I believe people have noted the same thing you are observing, that it goes through a period where it sounds worse at some point, before it continues improving. So don't obsess too much! Keep burning in/using it, and give it some more time. Your faith will be rewarded!
