Hm...I received the FiiO L5 today to try out the ZX2 with my VorzAmp Pure II and I gotta say I'm a bit disappointed.  The volume output via LOD is soooo LOW, I have to turn up Pure II's gain or volume out to the point I actually hear some hiss via the Pure II's audio out.  Weird, this is the first DAP I've paired with this amp that produced any sort of background noise...

Sony line out is very low voltage, it works best with high gain amps like Aune B1, which you can use in low gain mode and still need less than half the amps volume.

The only time I ever heard hiss out of the Pure II was when I connected it to my smartphone. I decided I didn't require an amp with the ZX2 because my IEMs sound great out of the player without it.

Thanks. I'm hoping it will power my JH13 without any external amp, that's the whole point (have contacted Whiplash to get a trrs pigtail for my already balanced cable).

My Japan ZX2 push the Z7 so well, considering that it is 70mm drivers and a whooping 4-100khz respond with 70 ohms....I can never listen to it at 100% output for more than a couple minutes (only did it a couple times to find the limit)

The line out is way too low voltage. My portable amps can't gain enough volume at low. Infact it also gives some problem to my desktop amp for my less sensitive headphone so I gave up on the lod
