^ Damn, what about disabling the sound enhancements app? It's likely the volume limiter is built into it, it limits the volume of the Japanese model so it could just be limiting the volume of the EU model further.

Everything in the sound settings is disabled.If you are referring to disabling sound adjustment in all apps i didn't notice any difference in the vol output.Unless there is a brave soul or a hacker who can do something hardware wise like installing someway the japan fw without bricking it we are stuck with it

Yea sound settings become disabled. Actually it's a bit annoying getting the disable sound enhancements to work properly, a lot of the time when you disable it the volume output doesn't change and you have to enable it again then restart device to have another go at disabling it, it might take a few tries, but you should be able to get it working eventually I think, but someone before said that they were having trouble getting the volume output to increase when they updated to latest firmware, but was working fine for them on previous firmware.

I enabled/disabled  the sound adjustment and restarted 9 times now,nothing happened,gonna take a break,sitting in the office with the costume on if any client saw what i was doing they would be laughing their ass off.

^ OK sounds like a no go for you. It's annoying, used to work every time on ZX1, but works like 1 in 8 times with F887, so don't know what's up with that, something to do with firmwares prob.

So I have confirmation on two things from Sony:
 
1... No balance adjustment
2... A playlist file you write to the device can only reference music on the same storage device as the playlist as per here.
 
No news on fixes... dunno how on it Sony is.

I load some 5,6 mhz dsd album to my zx2 ( binaural) and zx play it without any problems Binaural is maximum Chanels support by zx2
