I've heard one of the later serial numbers, which I believe is the bass heavy version? The other pair I heard I assumed was a bass light version, but I wasn't able to verify it for sure.
My pair is one of the earlier serial numbers / bass light.

Congrats on the R10. Do you prefer them over the Qualia?
The serial number is not a true indicator whether the R10 is bass light or heavy as I once had an R10 with SN in 7xx range that is very light in bass compared to my 358 pair. After all, Sony released R10s with three set of drivers. I don't know of their reasons either.
They are more in common than they have with the Koss KSC75.
Both Japanese flagships uses an exotic material for their diaphragm (bacterial vs. plant derived), an exotic wood for their cups, a semi-open closed-back design... Driver size and impedance is not the same, one is has angled drivers and cups, the other only angled pads.
Hi,
Sorry to hijack your thread, I just need your expertise
Just today a set of
Sony MDR-R10 came in my hands from a recently closed store. I have been said that they are unused and I just opened and tested them to check they are ok.
The s/n is 1038,they have all the original papers and box and the question is ,since I dont intent to keep them, how much money should I ask for selling them?
