Ex1000 made me swore of anything that's not single dynamic.... It's what I wanted.. A hd800/T1 iem.... Only if the isolation is better I could use it everywhere.. :/
I recently used my MDR-EX1000 on 2 flights and want to share my experience.
On the Airbus A380, movies had a wonderful surround sound effect.
They reminded me of the surround sound systems found in cinemas.
Highly recommended if you are flying on one.
However, on the Boeing 777-200 (ER), there was an annoying "whining" sound in the left channel.
The MDR-EX1000 had too good a dynamic range and picked up the hum.
I had to resort to using the standard headphones supplied by the airline.
So I recommend taking another pair of spare headphones with you if you are planning to use these for in-flight entertainment.
Too bad the isolation isnt that good.... The last time I was on a380, i didnt use my ex1000.. Didn't bother cause of isolation. Btw Dont you need a airplane adapter too?
Does anyone know if the EX-1000 (Japan) that are available now (Link) are NOS (new old stock) or recently manufactured and hopefully not counterfeit. The Amazon seller has good feedback and I was assured by Amazon that if all is not as described, I could return them for a full refund.
Why would you be suspicious? I went back and looked up my order of these and found I bought them in May 2012 for $319 and change.
Hi guys,
Is there an after market cable that can be bought for the EX1000?
