Having followed the conversation in the last pages, does anyone know what's up with the Z1Rs being sold on e-earphone?
It was mentioned that the model is discontinued, but they appear to have new stock, and someone mentioned that theirs was as recent as produced in mid-2023?

Being able to buy the Z1R new at their price is quite attractive even with potential broker fees, import duty, and VAT, especially considering how low the JPY is currently.

I can’t find any information that the Z1R is discontinued, you can buy them directly from Sony right now.

Various sources online were saying it, and I think someone mentioned it in this thread as well.
It seems that it's more that the IEM is no longer being sold in certain countries (many European ones), and that made people think it is discontinued.
As such, it's nearly impossible to buy it in Europe new, and the price it used to retail at (€2200) was very high.

So being able to buy it new at the e-earshop price is very tempting.

I can’t find any information that the Z1R is discontinued, you can buy them directly from Sony right now.

They dont sell it in every country, for example they dont sell it here in Norway.

I managed to get a used set but would probably still buy a new set if available here in the UK

I grabbed an used focal utopia OG. Iliked the 2022 but for a bit more details and better sou dstage than Z1R i couldbt see thw huge price jump of the 2022 utopias (5000€)

Not necessarily. I sold two pairs of Z1R's a few years ago and they were absolutely mint. Bought a used pair myself from a Sony retailer last month and they're as good as new, and at $450 USD less than (new) retail price.

My local supplier was out of the tips so offered the E1000 bundle for a few dollars more, which I sold on to take a bit off the cost.
At the time I also ordered a Fiio tips bundle which I currently find favorable to the Final E.

personally, i still prefer the Radius Deep Mount over the Final E
