Is there really no small sticker in the upper right-hand corner of the back side of the cardboard box stating the date of production only as it could be seen in one of the posts here above?

Nope, nothing else at all. Puzzling.
Not all countries have a date sticker. Mine bought in Denmark 5 years ago does not have one either

Not sure how many of you follow the Watercooler thread, but Z1R ranked third out of all the IEMs listed by more than 150 poll respondents in the latest community survey. Just take a look at the list of IEMs it beat out, and consider how impressive that is for a 5-year-old IEM that's still as good as the very best.

I'm not surprised. It doesn't really matter how long a transducer/iem design has been on the market. The Sennheiser HD800, HD650, and HD600 are still widely accepted as standards to be judged by despite being sold for decades.

There is something special about the Z1R. All my other iems are back in the drawer. As long as they sell, Sony's going to make them.

Bought mine from Amazon UK 2020 seems they were built around the time of World War 2 destined for the Russian market I reckon 🤷‍♂️😄

I got mine new from e-earphone some days ago. Code is very late 17k. No country specified on cable either.

ROFL mine has a similar sticker as yours, I swear the first thing I thought WW2? And Russia? Also in in another note it’s interesting to see that the Japanese version comes with cables not branded “Made in China” I’m curious if they just remove it or are those cables fabricated somewhere else.

Google Translate says it's Estonian, meaning "Produced 3-2020"... Why Estonia ?
