I should have post this here, but I already shared my experience in best IEM tips thread. I recently bought three highly regarded tips: AZLA SenaEarfit Max Standard, SpinFit W1, and JVC EP-FX10 Spiral Dot.Hello everyone. I’ve just purchased the new SpinFit W1 tips to use with the Z1R and from what I’ve experienced these do not play well together. The deeper fit of the Z1R plays against the strengths of the tips meaning the pivoting system on the tips makes it near impossible to get a seal.
Just as an FYI in case anybody here was thinking of getting those tips.
Max Standard becomes my go-to tips for all IEM, including Z1R, seals wonderfully and preserves best bass performance, especially sub-bass.
W1 is comfortable and may work fine for some IEMs, for example, it works reasonably well for Monarch, though still a little behind CP100-M. But for Z1R it clearly falls behind Max and has noticeable loss of sub-bass compared to Max. The reason for W1 to not seal well is due to its tip: too soft and springy: right after you have pushed the IEM with W1 inside your ears, the springy tip push the whole IEM back a little bit and therefore break the seal.
Another drawback for W1 is that there is only one choice to purchase: a combo of S, M, L size, which makes the offer pretty expensive since you can only use one size.
I just tried W1 one more times on my IEMs and decided to return it anyway.
BTW, SpinFit CP100-M used to be the best for me on Z1R, therefore, I had high hope for W1.
JVC Spiral Dot is a total dissappointment for me, it simply won't stay in my ear. I usually only buy L size, but for Spiral Dot, I am not sure it is due to the size being too large or the fit. I already returned them. It is also the most expensive tips around.
