Has anyone created a little spreadsheet yet for aftermarket tips and how they affect the Z1R sound? I know a bunch of the names liked here in the group but don't have a sense yet on how to prioritise which tips to try first ... thanks!
Some good information in these links. The audioreviews article lists many, many, different tips with a grading system. There is so much information it may either help you, or make things even more confusing.
Here's a sample, for the Final Type E, which is one that I find works well for me. Final Audio Type E Bore size: regular
Stem length: regular
Feel: soft and sturdy
Bass: 4
Midrange: 5
Treble: 3.75
Soundstage: 4
Vocal presence: 4
For balance sound. Tame harsh earphones
Purchased from ConnectIT (Singapore)
So finally got around to this - my own ears probably hearing the same as most versus the standard silicone. The Final E clears up the mid bass and less peaky in the upper regions. At the expense of a certain amount of sub bass - but I think the trade off is worth it as the bass is cleaner yet the decay still seems to be there. The Final Es are also faaaar more comfortable. Will be keeping these on for a while and see how it goes!
I want to share something for people looking for stock eartips replacement or even original cables.
I really like the stock Hybrid Silicon tips from Sony, better than the Final e. But the more common issue is the fact that you can’t easily buy replacement from anywhere.
This is where I found a solution.
Actually the site https://www.callonlineshop.com is selling official replacement for sony stock tips, hybrid or triple comfort, and even sell the official cables.
The issue is that they only ship to Japan, and for my part I live in France.
So I found the site https://neokyo.com/ , they let you order anything that ship in Japan, receive it for you and then you can send it to your original address. Fees are really fair, and the service very easy to use.
I have been able to order several pairs of replacement for the tips and an additional cable, I will receive it at home tomorrow, I will update you here then.

I'm not a burn-in guy - never was, never really set down any gear to burn in. While the sound of the Z1R basically settle down after like 50 hours, I'm pleased to still find now and then that there were noticeable but unquantifiable improvements here or there after 500+ hours on it. The huge DD driver is really something - the bass now reaches as low as the floor........yet still present itself in an unobstructive manner. Amazing.

When I was dealing with the defective pair, I had to call to setup a repair. Sony’s authorized repair center for the entire United States said the Z1R are not reparable and are a “replace” item per Sony.
So, it’s true. Sony considers your $2000 IEMs disposable. It’s a travesty.
Sony appears to consider both Z1R models to be not repairable so if you are out of warranty where they will replace them (unless they consider that you have misused them) you are out of luck
