Looks like a negligent Amazon employee got that one. I once received a box of wine glasses (half broken) that was thrown in a larger Amazon box, with no bubble wrap or protective filling what so ever. Looks like the Sony box survived. Everything is pretty well packaged inside that box.

Yes, exactly... except...
When I opened the inner black box I had it on my desk with the side of the box that has the "sony" print towards me. I flipped it upwards and the case with the IEMs fell down to the floor, opened (magnet holding the case closed is not a good design for a carrying case imo) and the IEMs rolled out of their slots but remained in the box.. probably banged into each other a bit too.
So not a good start with the Amazon packaging and definitely not a good continuation with me letting the IEM case fall down. What's next, accidentally plugging them into the wall power socket?
Sorry to break it to you, but it seems gerelmx1986 is "just" a gay man (post with pic). I assume gay because of the often mentioned husband. But don't worry, I was fooled too.
Ok, finished reading all the papers and there's no mention anywhere that you shouldn't drop them. Phew!
But this got me thinking: I know @Redcarmoose keeps his in a velvet box and only listens to them in a dedicated room lined with bubble wrap, so he's good, but what about everyone else, has anyone had any mishap with their z1r and lived to tell the tale? Basicall, are there any testimonials for their durability? Or am I the first one?
Ps: Sorry for flooding the thread over the past couple of days.

1) Actually before listening I put on a dust free anti-contamination suite, right before releasing the pressure valve on the atmospheric chamber the IER-Z1Rs are stored in.
2) Later a team of highly trained personal wearing specially designed dust free cloths escort me to the listening area.
3) With-in the listening area I then enclose myself in the soundproof listening room and warm up the equipment.
4) Fiinally with everything in place, I hold the IER-Z1Rs carefully to my ears.
