Can anyone recommend some nice bass heavy/punchy music for the Denon D5000? I really wanna try out some good drum heavy music too if you know what I mean.

I'm using a Zero DAC/AMP into Denon AH-(M)D5000's... a lot of the tracks listed are bassy and have good punch. For optimal listening buy the albums and/or use flac.

I've found Russian Circles to have some rather pronounced "tactile" feel to it, although I wouldn't call it bass-heavy at all.

Literally almost anything with the K1000, makes everything sound like a binaural recording. I was most impressed with Yankee Hotel Foxtrot with these since I couldn't imagine this album sounding any better. For the K501, well recorded music, chamber music or easy listening music sounds pretty damn good. The QP250 doesn't wow me much but it gives me the most sound while still being laid back if that makes any sense. They are how I wanted the Sennheisers to sound.

Couldn't agree more with a lot of the songs on your list but this one in particular is amaaazing sounding in with my D2000's.

It just works in so many ways.
