Welcome and congrats on your Realiser A16. As you’ve already got your real dream theatre, why do you need a device that creates an illusion of listening to those speakers?.....This is the room I will be looking to replicate https://www.acousticfrontiers.com/new-york-dream-home-theater/.

Congratulations on both your new A16 and your beautiful home theater. Life has most definitely been good to you, at the very least in regards to quality A/V. If you plan to plug directly into the A16 then you are looking at 6.35 mm. If you are using an external DAC connected to your A16 then it’s obviously a matter of what size inputs your DAC has. This may or may not also include XLR. Are you planning to do the PRIR captures yourself with the help of a friend?I am LJG from AVSforum, I expect to have my order shipped out 2/3/22. Very excited to receive this product. I have a pair of HD 800S headphones to pair with the A16. I am trying to understand the proper cable connection between the two. The HD 800 shipped with 6.35, and 4.4 MM connectors. Thanks in advance.

An extra pair of hands may also be helpful for the capture so that s/he can be free to move about the room, doing tweaks/adjustments(and also making sure that the mics are perfectly seated in your ear canals) while you remain in the sweet spot. If you have a significant other interested in enjoying the A16 then you would obviously want their PRIR to be captured during the same session. You may also wish to consider doing an additional 2.1 capture for stereo music listening when in your condo location. Good luck and enjoy!I am planning to do the PRIR captures by myself.

I would just do a stereo capture of the M2's for 2 channel music listening. Should be able to do it in two passes--I would recommend doing the base layer and the sub on the first PRIR. Bear in mind that there is no Atmos layout that recognizes more than a single sub (DTS-X has two sub layouts), so although the PRIR can be of multiple subs playing simultaneously, the PRIR will capture them as one single sub. Then I'd do the surrounds. Two Prirs which can then be incorporated into the listening rooms. Use 12 second non-overlapping sweeps, and have someone in the room coaching you on your head and body position. Then check the quality. First number should definitely be over 90 db if you've quieted the room (turned off ac, closed it off from the rest of the house, put pets in a distant room, etc). Should result in a dynamite measurement. An extra pair of hands may also be helpful for the capture so that s/he can be free to move about the room, doing tweaks/adjustments(and also making sure that the mics are perfectly seated in your ear canals) while you remain in the sweet spot. Thanks. I'll have a look at your work as soon as I get my A16 back.It is work in progress and the A16 part is just a very little part of my very large Pronto file with several thousand lines of JavaScript code. It's part of my hobby.....
I planned to make a clean copy for the A16 but had not the time so far, so it's just work in progress with some quick&dirty parts.
Nevertheless I uploaded the Pronto file to the Google-Drive for those who have an interest (I made a new folder '6)....'). But be warned, the Pronto file is messy....

I am going to look to have a professional assist with the calibration and setupAn extra pair of hands may also be helpful for the capture so that s/he can be free to move about the room, doing tweaks/adjustments(and also making sure that the mics are perfectly seated in your ear canals) while you remain in the sweet spot. John Teixeira from 3Dsoundshop.com will be doing the PRIR for me in-house (In my Theater). Thank you Esau for the suggestion. This part of the process is indeed left to the professionals. Details to be worked out with John next week.

Happy to be of help. It’s occasionally enjoyable to live a bit vicariously, plus a little good karma never hurt anyone. Honestly, I’m thrilled for both you and John.John Teixeira from 3Dsoundshop.com will be doing the PRIR for me in-house (In my Theater). Thank you Esau for the suggestion. A question for those who listen primarily to music: how well does the A16 meet your expectations? Is it able to convey the subtleties of a high-end system? Are you still happy that you invested the time and effort?

1)It has exceeded them.A question for those who listen primarily to music: how well does the A16 meet your expectations? Is it able to convey the subtleties of a high-end system? Are you still happy that you invested the time and effort?
2)So far, I have only been able to source my modest system.
3)I'm over the moon happy, and I haven't arranged for a 3DSoundshop PRIR capture or received my CanJam2017 capture as of yet.

To answer Picocamp, the Realiser has met my expectation, but, of course, my expectation was that it could capture with extemely high fidelity edge of the art system.
And now I have a 24 channel bespoke in person PRIR of the Stereophile rated Class A Dutch & Dutch 8C's captured in the studio of 3D SoundShop. And yes, for all of the time, effort, money, and frustrations, it's been worth it.
Or I could have spent twice the price for a pair of $8k speaker cables, and gotten even more value for my money. /S

I'm not sure if this is actually my A16 is being shipped already, but I got a notice from UPS yesterday, and one today and kind of ignored it until just now because I was expecting something from Amazon today (that arrived yesterday). I just got another update and looked at the location, and it says the label was made yesterday in the UK, and my package is currently at Newtownabbey UK, scheduled to arrive tomorrow. If that's the A16, that was a very quick delivery. When James said up to fourteen days, I was actually thinking I'd see mine anywhere between the second and third week of this month.

I wouldn’t be surprised. I know that shipping has been kind of a mess for the past two years, but the few times that I received a shipment from the Smyths it would only take 2-3 days from when they created a label to when it would arrive.I'm not sure if this is actually my A16 is being shipped already, but I got a notice from UPS yesterday, and one today and kind of ignored it until just now because I was expecting something from Amazon today (that arrived yesterday).
