Another good alternative to the Vitamin E capsules is Oto-Ease, which is made for hearing aid users. I'd use the same precautions as suggested above by Quadfather.

Wouldn't water work as well?
The viscosity of the vitamin E oil seems to stay and work longer.
I currently just tried using Vaseline (Petroleum Jelly) and it seems to work as well.
Selling my clear 846s soon. PM me if interested.

Try not getting the vitamin E on the IEM shells. I always wipe my hands on a paper towel after application and wipe the drivers with a dry microfiber cloth after use. I also use a Dry and Store with dessicant Dry Brik II to keep moisture out of the SE846s. It is normally used for hearing aids. A soft bristle paint brush can then be used to wipe any debris away. I only use stock cords, because I found most aftermarket cords fit loosely and stress the femalr MMXC connection.
I like more foam
