Is it better to sell my se535-cl and get the ltd or just buy a cable upgrade?

What are you hoping to achieve? If you want greater clarity than I would suggest silver cables.

If you want great treble response change the filters. There is a great thread here at Head-Fi about changing or modifying the filter on the SE530 or SE535.

Exactly what i was going to say,  cable upgrade and filter upgrade and BAM, you can have whatever sound you want.

I cannot recommend Ted Allen at Headphone Lounge highly enough. His prices are among the most competitive (about $90 for OCC silver plated copper to $200 for OCC silver). Also the build quality is great and really fast turn around time.

Exactly I loved my neo tech pure silver when I had it. For the price it's very good considering what others are charging. Also the sound was very nice too.

What is a good way to restore the subbass to my SE535LTD? Is it Knowles/Mouser filters (which...Orange or brown?). Cable (which... silver I assume, but are all pure silver, not silver plate, equivalent?). Special tips (tried Comply and the triple flange, but not yet triple flange with first flange tip cut off). Equalization (If so... what frequency and boost factor)?

Thanks for any insight!

Subbass with a SE535LTD ? Not sure you'll ever hear that... as with most IEMs...

Cable-wise, I never got more bass than when using a large section monostrand copper cable (or stock cable which is also fine bass-wise). I never ever got more bass from IEMs when using silver cable, silver usually helps more with treble.

Cheaper solution: EQ below 200Hz and see if you can hear anything, but SE535LTD has never been a bass beast. You'll get a better bass boost EQ-ing in the 200-400Hz region, I was doing that when I owned the SE535LTD.

Thanks! EQed with 12 dB gain, LPF Q = 1 at 30 Hz, 6 dB BPF Q=1 at 100 Hz, 3dB Q=1 at 200 Hz. Makes some difference but I think I could do better on EQ settings. Thanks!
