Shure SE535: Reviews and First Impressions Thread

It depends what tips you are using.  If you are using foam tips it should be the same.
The Ety tri-flanges also have extreme isolation but I don't know anyone that would use that tip on a Shure product.  More likely a single silicone type tip which would provide less isolation.  I would gauge 20-25% less isolation.

i use the triple flange for it .... after cutting the upper small tip ( so it is double flange now

)....it is great and i am using it for now ..... less isolation from the foam one by about 20 -25 %

I'm ready to buy this but I notice that authorised dealers sell these at a much higher price than say for example dealers on Amazon marketplace, i.e. authorised UK dealers charge around £350 while on Amazon marketplace it can be had for £260+ which seems like a huge difference IMO.

I am concerned about buying fakes so I was wondering, do most SE535 owners here buy from authorised dealers? I don't mind the lack a warranty but would it be possible to pay Shure to fix a malfunctioning unit bought from an unauthorised dealer (assuming it's not a fake).

But how risky is it to buy from an unauthorised dealer?

Technically if you have a problem, Shure may not repair it at all. If you are concerned, call Shure customer service and ask. I will say I have never heard anyone who has a Shure product being denied service or repair. It is a risk that is all.

What about the risk of fakes, I'm looking at the following at the moment, really good prices but unauthorised (possibly fakes?):

- Amazon marketplace: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Shure-SE535-In-Ear-Isolating-Earphones/dp/B003S3RD7O/ref=aag_m_pw_dp?ie=UTF8&m=A2GF1W9NWP8LJL

- Simply Electronics: http://www.simplyelectronics.net/mainproduct.php?pid=10974&sd=specs

Should I go for it or not?

Help plz?  I need a new cable (mine broke) but I'm leaving on a trip.  Anyone know where you can buy any kind of replacement cable for these (ue 900 cables, etc..) in Los Angeles?

I have cut the triple flange down to a single flange. It sounds really good and has an easy fit for me.

I'm not sure if Shure wanted us to customise our own tip with the triple flange :)
