Yeah, it’s possible—cables can make a big difference. If you went from really high end to really low end cables, it could sound like your IEM’s are dying, but they might be fine. Test with some other cables before throwing out those beautiful 535’s!

My fav cable is the FiiO 4.4 balanced. It is a silver plated cable and sounds fine to my ears. The FiiO cable is a tight fit on the MMCX plug, but the upside is that once in position, they don’t rotate => easier to fit in my ears.

I use the long Comply foam tips for good seal, and to block outside noise.
