Apologies if I missed it, what are the se535's like with rock/metal?   Know about the westone 3's (though would I be right in thinking that w3's basically = westone 2's with more bass?)but worried about the fit with them.

Also are the 535's worth the £100 extra over the 3's?

Cheers.

Hey Mate.

As far as i know Sure SE535 comes with standard 3.5 mm jack.
I've got same Sony X1061 and it comes with the set of Sony earphones with the 3.5 mm jack on them but the jack looks different to what's used on Sure SE535 - I'm sure you know what i mean.
Have you found the way to get around it?
Keen getting myself a pair of Sure SE535 but the difference with jacks stops me.
Anything can be done about it? Any converters, adapters....???

Thank you in advance everyone.

Hey

the 535s are v v good with rock, the bass extends v deep for an iem and as a whole the sound is v smooth. imo, it's slightly more musical than the w3s but at 100gbp it gets quite tricky.

When I was deciding between the two of them and the price difference was about 50gbp so it was an easier decision to make

I'd go with W3. Unless you are using some warm sounding DAP. SE535 are great with old irivers, uDAC and so one. They sound rather lifeless with s:flo though. W3 are warm sounding with lush mids and more extended bass. W3 have great drive in lower frequencies especially for rock/metal. SE535 lack a bit of filling in midbass, bass is faster and highs don't go as far as W3.

Any comparisons with MTPC and RE252?

First post makes it sound like it is similar to 252 balance-wise.

I got the large Complys in and they help some, but its just not enough.  They seal pretty well after a bit of fiddling and adjusting the memory wire, but they still don't hold it as well as the 530s do with the smaller tips.  I think it would still be worth it for the bump in SQ except the sharper corners on the 535 still dig into my ear and get annoying rather fast.  They'll be up for sale as soon as I can get around to taking some photos.

I guess I'm going to be getting some customs next...

Hi everyone.

Here is the question:

Is Sure SE535 compatible with Sony Walkman NXZ X1061 model?
I compared Sony earphone’s plug (supplies with the Walkman) and Sure’s one.
Sure’s male plug has 3 connection points the one on Sony’s set has 4 connection points. If the difference creates the problem, do you know the way to overcome it?
Thank you in advance.

It should probably be fine.  The extra one is usually for a remote or mic, and such devices usually work with regular 3 conductor 'phones but I couldn't say for sure.  Just find another normal pair of 'phones with the normal 3 conductor TRS connector and see if they work.

The SE535s, which I owned and sold (didn't like the sound quality & cable), work perfectly well with the Sony X1061, which I also own (and am currently selling). The stock Sony earphones are Noise Cancelling phones and you will not get the noise cancelling feature the Sony X1061 offers unless you use the supplied earphones.
