Head fi station this summer with the Abyss JOAL

Congrats!

Yesterday I had the pleasure of trying out the JOAL, a truly fantastic headphone .

Tonally, it's indeed quite different from previous Dianas, finally taking the overall picture of music reproduction into account, not just details and bass clarity.

Unfortunately, these headphones are still an Abyss Diana in one aspect, namely comfort .

Having a XXL scull, they actually still rest on my ears and feel like on-ear headphones instead of over-ear headphones, which, due to an ear surgery I had three years ago,

become painful after extended wear.


But fortunately, there are pretty good alternatives for my summer listening sessions on the patio .

and it is also “multitasking capable” so you can cook fried eggs on this amplifier at the same time.

Giving me ideas of what to do with the excess heat coming off of my Mjolnir 3.

Just checking out my newest dongle DAC/amp. The Fiio KA15. Sound is very good. But the menus are mostly in Chinese (at least I think it's Chinese). Is there any way to change it so it's all in English? It was completely brand new and unopened.

My dongle DAC/amp collection. It's nice to have big expensive gear if you can afford it and have the space. But if not then these work very well. Also none of these work with my iPhone 13. Any reason why?

Must agree. I actually just replaced my Schiit Modius with a Questyle M12, I think it has better synergy for my new headphones.

My only dongle is the RU6, which I use for travel with a low impedance ChiFi dynamic headphone. I kind of like the weighty multibit sound.
