This evening, I am thoroughly enjoying Liquid Platinum driving Grado GS3000x.

For some change, CD playback is by Oppo BDP-105D (with dual ESS 9018 Sabre DAC). Happily, the XLR output voltage is lower than that of my usual DAC - I can turn the LP volume knob further clockwise. Kudos also to RFT ECC82 'foil getter' tubes 🙂 !!

Added an Antipodes EX, so I can now seperate server and player functions between EX(server) and S30/60( player/power supply).
This is without a doubt the most outstanding sound improvement so far but I know there’s more….
Whatever people say but it starts with the source components. Once that is on the right way, everything else will shine.IMG_7113.jpeg

Which headphone is your favourite?

Does the Susvara have more detail than the Bravura?
Hard for me to say I have a favorite. Otherwise, I might only have one set of headphones :smile: I know Susvara sound varies with the chain it's connected to, but with mine I would say it isn't more detailed than Bravura, they're fairly equal, but it's presentation might be a little more natural and analog sounding. Bravura is also a highly detailed set with great imaging and transients, but I think it also is more unforgiving with bad recordings. I love them both, largely due to their wonderful mids. I like my mids; I'm definitely not a bass or treble head!

Just a desk corner. Funny thing is - 8 or 9 years ago I sold my last full-size headphones and they were DT880 and Pro900. Now I'm back and my first two pairs are open Beyers and closed Ultrasone :D.

As one can glean from the @vmiguel and the @Morph setups, never underestimate SQ from simplicity:

Just "discovered"some new/old jazz by the Ray Brown Trio and listening with the Abyss 1266, LTA MZ3, and of course the trusty RME ADI-2 DAC FS. Ohhhhh, the detail!!! In the room experience, for sure...

Which recording? [Ray Brown is my favourite acoustic bassist. His technique, tone is astounding. Also check out the Oscar Peterson Trio rendition of West Side Story]
