Reminds me of a truly misguided TV ad circa early '70s. Motorola's "Quasar II" TV featured an "innovation" of dubious value except for repair technicians: some of the control boards could slide out of the case in drawer-like fashion. Motorola's big tagline for this was
WORKS IN A DRAWER
First time I saw the ad I fell over laughing because in street lingo, "works" meant everything a junkie needs to shoot up: spoon, cotton balls, matches, length of flexible rubber to tie off the vein, and syringe. So "works in a drawer" were found in every dope fiend's crib--and had nothing whatsoever to do with TVs.
Those ads vanished from sight rather quickly. I like to think someone with street smarts finally broke the news to Motorola's ad agency about what "works" means...

Haha yes I do! And yes it does.Wait--you have a functioning/connected DAC in that drawer? Doesn't it get hot in there?
But there’s some airflow behind the desk where the cables are routed, so I’m not too worried. I think Schiit DACs like some heat anyway

Not the most photogenic table but at least they do sound great!
Perhaps I need to install some additional lighting around the table to make more artsy feeling.

Cen.Grand DS DAC right? How do you like it? Curious how PCM content translates on it.Not the most photogenic table but at least they do sound great!

Yeah, Cen Grand DSDAC Deluxe. So far so good, really love how detail and spacious the sound, while provide smooth and organic character at the same time. Sold my Chord TT2 and moved to here.Cen.Grand DS DAC right? How do you like it? Curious how PCM content translates on it.
Here's my setup in its current (messy and unorganized) state. Not pictured: HD800s, LCD-X, LCD-2C, Expanse, SVS SB3000, lots of tubes, and WA22 2nd Gen. Definitely need to do some smart rearranging of things soon!

Nice setup. If you don't mind me asking where did you get the headphone stands? In particular those black ones in the back of your desk and the silver one next to your tube collection. Here's my setup in its current (messy and unorganized) state. Nice setup. What monitor is that? (Mind sharing the wall? It would look nice on my ultrawide)Here's my setup in its current (messy and unorganized) state. The black ones are Kanto H2 stands. They're often on sale for $30 and are built like a tank. The silver one is a Room's stand from ThomannMusic.com. Both are great. I'm actually about to take them all apart for sanding and custom painting to better match each headphone. They can be fully disassembled which is awesome!Nice setup. It's an Alienware AW3821dw. I opted for 38" as it's the equivalent of a wider 32", whereas 34" is a wider 27". I prefer the extra vertical space and resolution. It helps greatly for productivity. Attached is the wallpaper. Happy to share a huge collection of wallpapers via PM if you'd like.Nice setup. What monitor is that? (Mind sharing the wall? It would look nice on my ultrawide)
It'll have to do until someone releases a 38" 5k2k screen with high refresh rate. I don't think I could go back to 60Hz. I used a 49" Samsung Odyssey G9 before this, but I found 38" to be a far more ideal size for productivity.

Thanks. I opted for a 34” as that’s all I have room for on my desk (LG 34WK95U-W which is a 5K2K). I’ll ping you. It's an Alienware AW3821dw. How do those Elacs do relatively close to the front wall? Here's my setup in its current (messy and unorganized) state. Not pictured: HD800s, LCD-X, LCD-2C, Expanse, SVS SB3000, lots of tubes, and WA22 2nd Gen. Definitely need to do some smart rearranging of things soon!
Very well actually. I was worried about how they'd do in nearfield, but I absolutely love them. I have a miniDSP SHD for active crossover so they're not dipping below 90Hz, which potentially helps a little. I definitely prefer ribbon tweeters for nearfield. How do those Elacs do relatively close to the front wall?
