This amp had sensitivity switches that went from John Denver to Marilyn Manson. Somewhere in the middle was Barry Manilow, I had to account for Mr. Cowen’s musical preferences.
This is one of the funnier things I've ever read on Head-Fi.

People often say, "It all went sideways" to describe a catastrophe. Here it describes a purpose-built tube amplifier. Gotta love that!

This all started when @bcowen said I used cardboard for an amp I gave him.😀 ED630AFA-38E3-4469-AAF9-FBD4970A7D13.jpeg

It was tulip poplar, I later upgraded it to this amp for him.

Before that friends and I got together and decided what a cardboard amp should look like, all in fun.😀

I plan to build one last amp, prettier than this one.

Nope, I used Beyerdynamic drivers. I liked the looks of them and added copper grills.

Very well spotted, a few might still recall CHC, I believe that was the brand.😀
i did something similar.. i was sadly disappointed with the smaller laredo's but LOVED the headband build. took drivers out of some cheap woodie i found on ebay, sounded heaps better. yes, CHC.

It warms my atrophied little heart to see a whole buncha audio gear crammed together like this. To me, this is what a real desktop audio system looks like.

You have two pairs of speakers in use? (respect!)

My own system (actually two separate systems, one headphone-only, the other w/speakers & sub) spills out over ~14 feet of L-shaped desktop much like this system does...the details are all different, but the overall look is rather similar.
make your workspace a fun place i say  ... i have edifier speakers, but the stacked speakers was too tall, and moved them over to the other TV.. they're okay with that purpose.

AQ Niagara will be out soon, to make way for another Lab12 Gordian. Raal TI adaptor box will make way for the Zahl HM1. have a piano black Apollon purifi 1et7040sa amp on order, possibly replacing the NAD M23, as I want to get an all black combo on the rack. hoping to add a Grimm MU1 or a Wavedream NET someday...

PrimaLuna gear is so easy to spot.
I need to make room for a PrimaLuna DAC and luckily I can adjust my shelves accordingly.

Lol!
I actually have two cans of matte black plastidip... just trying to muster up the courage to attempt it on the NAD. Will try on some old children's toys first.
