You are very kind. You are takumi
Thanks, a closer look at a couple things:
Yes, those are single gang ladder pots. Most potentiometers in headphone amps are dual gang, two pots on the same shaft. They turn up the volume at the same rate. With individual pots, say you have a slight hearing deficit on one side, you can compensate for that. If you want to hear one track slightly above the other to pick out a musical instrument better, these will help with that as well. I prefer the single gang myself and all amps I kept for myself have them. I also use some fairly rare ALPS black widow pots (I believe that term was used for them.) They are single gang stepped pots, they have detents just like the ladder pots and if you look inside you see the little resistive elements for each step. Those resistor arrays are just mesmerizing! I take it you control L/R channels independently?
And another....Thanks, a closer look at a couple things:
All tube gear, I do not use solid state amps.
Black beauty pots. Sheeez. It's a good thing I'm here.Yes, those are single gang ladder pots. Most potentiometers in headphone amps are dual gang, two pots on the same shaft. Lol hey I am old and only semi-senile. There are days when I am almost lucid.Black beauty pots. Sheeez. It's a good thing I'm here.

Oh and I went for a steampunk look, originally I made a Faraday cage using copper mesh to go over power transformer. Another amp I modified for the steampunk look is the second photo. Both amps have an eighth inch solid copper plate top that weighs two pounds. I added the patina myself then sealed each with a clear lacquer. In the second photo I modified a set of headphones to make them balanced, and changed the drivers so they were 250 ohm. I built the headphone cable as well as a four headphone rack. Dual stepped volume pots with a VU meter on each channel.
Absolutely true. I see you list Belden 1964 cable in your gear. Perhaps that should read 1694a?The lack of balance control on headphone amplifiers is a real shame, many people have imbalanced hearing or have headphones will poor driver matching.

Belden is in Northern Indiana and my employees spent many years working with their products. I still use it occasionally myself.
