That looks great!
Took a while to get a malfunctioning Speedball to work (required a full rebuild of the large board), but this bad boy is finally done and ready to head off to its new owner, @Blindranger !
For those on the fence about doing a Speedball upgrade...DO IT. The sound upgrade is fantastic.

What’s the verdict on that Rotel man?

The Rotel 1572 Mk II is fantastic! It is quiet in operation, solidly built, has an excellent Texas Instruments DAC chip (not 'vivid' but 'natural' sounding). If I had to 'downsize', had to part with separate CD transport / DAC, the Rotel I would keep! What’s the verdict on that Rotel man?

Nice! Been using a high res digital source since I lost the stereo room to my MIL needing to move in. Only pieces I have left is an Oppo DAC and a Rega Planet. Both just don’t work right anymore. Been thinking about picking a good CD player. My MFSL and DCC discs are wasting away…The Rotel 1572 Mk II is fantastic! A couple years ago I bought a fairly well reviewed trad CD player (Yamaha CD-S303), mostly because it accepted files from a USB flash drive. I then discovered that no matter what order I imposed on the files (picture 10 GB of files, 100s & 100s of them)--this CD player plays them not in numbered order, but in "the order of their creation" (factoid buried in the manual). The result: beyond messed up. Every time I use the thing I want to chuck it into a pond.
So I got all pumped up about this Rotel--too expansive, but obvious quality & many positive user comments--only to find it doesn't have a USB input.
