No, the MTouch players are not dead.

If you can send us some detail what exact issue you are facing with connecting Bluetooth headphones, we can look at it. You can reach out to us over PM or email to info@shanling.com
Okey, good to hear but you haven't given any details except to say Q1 is discontinued, and no updates to even older models and it came out what 3 years ago. Hard for people to wait for a new model when you don't provide any details or timeline for the next model. You should know by now that DAP fans have a very short attention span and we tend to move on quickly when we don't hear anything from manufacturers for years in this case.

When can we expect information on the next MTouch model? If you say maybe some time next year that is simply to long between model releases for me to convince me you are still invested in making MTouch models. I also recall you posting previously that there isn't much more you can do with the MTouch platform after the Q1 release when I asked about a new model. So if that statement is true what can you still do with the MTouch platform to make it worth upgrading to?

We believe MTouch platform is now at pretty evolved stage, with years of adjusting system, UI, functions, etc. Of course there are still things to play with on hardware side.

That's all we can say for now.

We are aware of such reports. Unfortunately it seems Sennheiser once again goes bit unusual with their approach to Bluetooth headphones and it cause incompatibility with our Mtouch system. At current time there is no fix.
Is there a possibility of a future firmware update with a fix for this?

Well, do you have some basic knowledge how to repair phones? Q1 is easier than that.

Replacement screen is available, but we would highly recommend trying to work with your local Shanling distributor on shipping. Unfortunately our shipping cost makes repairs on Q1 bit problematic.

Well, we do not have official store, that's just one Chinese dealer. And they in the end refused to deal with spare parts :frowning2:
Thanks to Frankie

The replacement screen for myQ1 has arrived.
Purchased from your Chinese retailer on Aliexpress for approx £27 incl p&p with minimal fuss or bother.

I'll try to fit it at the weekend, hopefully there will be no glue to deal with.

Any problems will be my responsibility.

Great service from Shanling.

I changed my broken screen on Friday evening.
It was surprisingly easy.
working perfectly and I'm listening to it now.

The only bad thing is that I haven't had to buy a shiny new toy.

Thanks again to Frankie, Shanling, and Shanling Official Store on Aliexpress.
The British importer hasn't bothered replying to my enquiry.

Hi everyone,
Is there anyone who uses the Rockbox port can tell me if Bluetooth support came or not? I was considering to install but I`m using my Sony BT headphones with Q1 more frequently than my IEMs and I`d like to know if I can use Rockbox port now fully with BT headphones? I don`t care about the Wifi functionality but bluetooth support would be awesome.

@Shanling
When playing a specific folder, is it possible to quickly just go back to browse the folder being played?

If you start playback from the folder, you can go back to them same folder from now playing screen by swiping right.

But if you go to like main menu after starting playback, go through setting, etc, it will not work anymore. You need to navigate back to it step by step. You can still look up currently playing list by swiping left.

I tried out Rockbox (for the second time) on my Q1. When I try to restore the 2.2 firmware by holding down PREV+NEXT+POWER, I get the Shanling splash screen and then a message "Update Failed". I also tried restoring the backed up shanling bootloader but that leaves it completely inoperative (I can't even do the PREV+NEXT+POWER reset). I have to reinstall the rockbox bootloader just to get it to attempt the reset.

As I said, this is the second time I've tried out rockbox and my reset the first time worked flawlessly so I'm not sure what's different.
If anyone has any ideas of other things I could try to restore the original firmware, I would appreciate it.

Hi @Shanling
I have some feature requests for the Q1 os. It would be nice to hear if any of this is possible!

Small features and UI improvements
  • Theme customization: colors, alternative font, alternative icons (for example ones we can design and load ourselves, just like the lockscreen?)
  • Quicker track name scrolling on “now playing screen” (or word wrap)
  • Quicker loading of album art in album list view when scrolling, if that’s possible
  • More custom EQ slots with the possibility to name them (for individual headphones, for example)
Bigger features
  • 10 band Parametric EQ (doesn’t have to be visualized, just with relevant information (Hz, Q, Gain))
  • Meier crossfeed. (The Foobar2000 one is a good and simple one, for example)
Thanks😊
