Hey, I just can't watch Your torment...

Please, set "double click to wake up" in the "system" settings - it will protect Your Q1 from being accidentally turned on.

Cheers and enjoy this one little Q1ller :)

Thanks,

I should have spent a few minutes looking at the system settings.Just me being lazy.

This should be stated in the manual if your not farmiliar how these dap lock buttons work otherwise more people will think the same as me.

Also if the lock button is on and player is in your pocket it could easily become unlocked by catching the power button.

Thank you.

It's stated in Advanced User manual, at page 10, when talking about buttons lock.

Here is link to Advanced User Manual
It should tell you everything about settings.

There is an issue similar with older DAPs.
When I select the song after turning on or after some long time of no playing the first 0.5 second is cut out. It is probably due to some internal circiut turning on. Is there an option to add "delay" to make sure that the musi starts after the hardware is ready?
I had the same issue with Shanling M3s and you mentioned that it was unable to fix due to limitations of HiBy software.
Now you made your own MTouch. Can you fix this?

Using the Q1 as a player, USB connection to a Mojo. USB mode set as USB and USB Audio Output set to fixed volume. When I move the track along by touching the slider bar, I’m getting a loud pop noise some times. Also with gapless turned on a pop as the track changes.

Anyone else running their Q1 as a player, USB connection to an external DAC via a USB lead? Do you get the pops too?

Don’t want to damage my IEMs so I guess I can’t pair my Q1 with the Mojo if Shanling can’t confirm they’re looking into it (with an external DAC).

Will discuss if this can be implemented in some easy form.

Got report of it and are looking into improving it.
But these pops shouldn't represent any real danger to earphones.

Thank you @Shanling

Tested with my M0 and Q1, both pop. The pop can vary from quiet to very loud, and is random.

Yes I had this also with my M0 but also with my Fiio M7 and it was also quite random. Both DAP's are using an ESS Sabre DAC so perhaps that is a factor. The pop or glitch is a big reason I sold my M7 and got the M9 which has AKM DAC's and no pops or glitches at all.

The more reviews and posts I read about the Q1 makes me believe it is the perfect DAP for my needs. I just don't know if I could go back to another DAP with this issue. Here's hoping Shanling can do something to at least reduce it if not eliminate it.

Discussed issue is about using device as USB digital transport, so it has nothing to do with build in DAC/AMP in Q1 or M0.

I never used my M0 as a digital transport and still had the delay and recurring pop. Had the same issue with the Fiio M7 and never used it as transport either. Given both use an ESS Sabre DAC kind of makes me wonder what else they could have in common if not the DAC to cause the issue? I really am interested in the Q1 so I would like to know if Shanling can figure out the cause?

Do you know if there will be any clip cases available for Q1? I don't suppose this is very likely to happen as the player is a touch too big / heavy for a sport player (compared to, say, M0) but having a clip case would make it more versatile product. And also would fit my needs perfectly.

Many thanks.

Due to the size and weight, we do not plan such case for Q1. M0 stays as our main recommendation for physical activities.

Hi to all! One question to @Shanling :
Now i see, that Q1 didn't recognize a .wv (WavPack) format. Can it be added in further updates? Thanks.

Will report it to software team and see what can be done.
Since we started with MTouch, I don't remember anybody bringing up Wavpack files.

@Shanling
While I am waiting for my baby blue Q1 to arrive, I noticed there are two USB drivers available on the download pages : a Q1 USB driver with 2018 date and a general Shanling USB driver with a 2020 date. Both seem to have the same file content and a Chinese only manual. The 2020 driver failed to install on my Win10 PC while the UP4 was connected, and I haven't tried the Q1 driver so far. Is ther any difference between them?

My main reason to buy a Q1 is not the need for a player but for a LDAC transmitter for my PCs and laptops. Beyond Android smartphones, there are only a few bluetooth DAPs as LDAC transmitters on the market, no standalone SPDIF to bluetooth transmitters, like for aptX LL and HD.
