I had the same problem. I downloaded it from the website and installed it as a local update. Is Baby Easy and goes very fast.

Download the firmware directly at your M 8.

Then you can install it as local update

Just do a local update. I downloaded the company update from the Shanling site to my Mac. Then I copied it to the Downloads folder on the M8. Then I turned off wifi on the M8. Then tapped on update. Press Local update in the top right corner. Select folder (downloads) and install. It all took less than 10 minutes. Thats is quite easy. In terms of computers, I'm not the brightest candle on the cake either, but everyone can do that.

Yes, it works fantastically at Shanling. Just download and install. Not with unpacking and all that crap. With iBasso it was more complicated. I have no idea how many unpacker programs I've tried. The DX 300 /320 somehow didn't recognize most of the unzipped zip files.

With IBasso you needed to unpack the first main folder and the right zip folder for the update was inside. Shanling has it ready to install after download. But not a big deal with IBasso either just bit more confusing. Maybe because in IBassos main zip folder were instructions in txt file too.

Yes maybe. But Shanlings way is very easy. I know to used a computer. But only the normally things. I not a nerd. With the Shanling update everyone can do. Even if you never used a computer before

Just updated M8 using OTA.

M8+UAPP- damn!
The sound is tighter and even deeper with even more precise and punchy bass.
High frequencies are slightly snappier and sharper. Also holography improves. Everything is more focused.
